Sept/Oct Sketch Challenges

Here are some more samples of the Monthly Sketch Challenges.
Family by Sally Clark (CT)
I used the 'Togetherness' range of papers by Cosmo Cricket for this LO and began by using my Silent Setter to create holes along one edge of the paper which I then tore between the holes to look like it had been ripped out of a notebook.
Add a few handmade flowers, ribbon, a curly metal thing that could pass for a paper clip and a printed 'button' for the title that says 'Family'.
I thought I would be clever and cut out  a fancy doily style shape from the Storybook Cricut cartridge to create my own mask. I inked around the large and small masks using Peeled Paint Distress Ink and was happy with the result but it looked too flat.
I raided my doily box and used a vintage doily (I think this one was my grandmother's) and some vintage trim.
Great layout Sally, lots of homemade touches and techniques.  Love the masking matched up with the doilies.
Card Set by Sally Clark (CT)
What a brilliant idea! Sally has used this set of Jillibean clear stamps that she picked up at Retreat to make a card set after she couldn't decide which one to use for the sketch.  A very nice little gift idea indeed!
Using some basic tools and inks it's easy to contine a pattern, varying the stamp and colours.

A touch of flocking gives this little chick a bit of softness.
Pretty in Pink, how could she not be?
A little bit of ink and mounting up puts this pig a snout above the rest......
Some blokey colouring, a bit of distressing
...some contrast with these black jumbo snaps
...and a touch of red to make it go faster, because that's what red does right?
This card has some black glitter cardstock for a background contrast.
The clear flower embellishments added more dimension.
And a little more fussy cutting and mounting up with some light shading and she done!
Again, a great set Sally.  A fantastic idea to utilize stamp sets and get a few extra cards done at the same time.  Why not give it a go?

Pumpkin Time is approaching, so if you still have a Sketch Challenge to enter your time is ticking.
