The Latest Sketch Entries

Hi Everyone, well it's almost two weeks since the latest sketch went up so I thought I would share the creations it inspired.  We're only half way there though, so keep them coming!

Now for some Cards to add....

This one is from Jinny in the 'States.
Thanks for popping in and being part of our Sketch Challenge Jinny.
 60th Birthday by Cassie
Birthday by Helen

 Birthday by Roseanne

The Sketch Challenge has been keeping everyone very inspired judging by the above creations, and that is just wonderful.  I am sure your creations above will be brushing off as new inspiration for someone else, just as you were inspired to put together your layouts and cards using the Sketches.  As we become inspired and motivated to create and explore, we also learn new styles, techniques, and take ourselves a bit outside of our comfort zones trying something new or different, which certainly isn't a bad thing!

Great work everyone.

A Few More Monthly Layouts...

I have just uploaded some more Sassafras Lass Pack layouts for you all to see.  The colours in this pack are just brilliant, and I love the colour combinations everyone has used.  Nothing has been straight forward with this pack, and each one is more exciting than the last!

The bunting using the corrugated cardstock has come up a treat on Jennie's layout.  The fence, hessian and strands of hessian on the flower stalks have all worked into the theme of Jennie's kinder photo.
Jennie

With Sally being away on her family holiday for so long without scrapping, I guess she has managed to find her Mojo somewhere...............  she has gone off and has sent in several layouts to share using the Sassafras Lass pack.
Sally - Love
Sally's layout  has not used much of the patterned papers, but it is still effective enough before you even look at the stitching!  Nice work on that flourish Sal.  I like how it's come together - lots of space for you too!
Sally - Sunset Pg 1

This is quite an interesting contrast to the above layout with the natural tones of the kraft being a nice balance to the mosaic of patterned squares.  And how cool is that crimped cardstock?
Sally - Sunset Pg 2
Side by side this double layout ties together with the crimped over-stitched cardstock and the patterned squares.  The hessian adds to the natural feel of the beach. Looks very inviting!
Roz - Eb Pg 1
Roz practically bolted out of the shop with this pack!  "I've got just the photos" she tells me, and well, she wasn't wrong!  Ebony features beautifully in the layouts with the lovely music paper background, and musical shapes.  Great contrast with the heart punch and flowers.
Roz - Eb Pg 2
Have you noticed how much brighter this page is, and yet it's softened by the flowers and that youthful musician!  Again, that music paper just works so well with this pack, and the chip musical notes and letters tie together nicely.  Well done.

We are four days away from the next months packs, and I am itching to see who will take out the $20 Scrapville Gift Voucher for the July Packs.  One winner, one prize, Janet's selection.......  are you in the running?  Time is ticking.....................
And thanks for sharing girls, loving all your work and creativity.

Sneak Peekville!

As the month of August fast approaches I thought I would post a few little sneaky previews of what is going to be on offer next month.  Janet has also been working furiously on putting together a couple of extra special 'Limited Edition' kits for August only which I'm sure are going to snapped up as soon as they are put on the shelves.
Happy Scrapping!

July Blind CropVille

The July Blind CropVille once again proved to be an entertaining event, with some wonderful outcomes. The girls all set out on a trail of cutting, distressing, paper crimping and sewing to complete their layouts in record time!  Just as well there were Scones with jam and cream waiting!!!  Have a look at Melinda's Reveal, then see how it compared to what the girls all came up with.

Thanks to Melinda for the Layout Design, and Sally for sitting in on the class to help the girls with "intrepretations..."  We're glad to see you and your family arrive back home safely after a monumental trip across America....... and a gazillion photos to scrap!!!

July Sketches!
Each month Scrapville runs a sketch challenge with randomly drawn prizes. The sketches are purely to give you inspiration for your layout and or card, with a design already in mind. You don't have to follow the sketch verbatim, you can flip it, turn it, alter it slightly, add to it, however the original sketch design must be recognizable in your final entry. All entries must be emailed to scrapville@iinet.net.au or dropped into the store in Wodonga before midnight, 14th August. Winners will be announced on the blog on the 15th August.

Just getting those last few Sketches in...

............. tick, tick, tick, tick.................        Well with the new Sketch Challenges for July/August about to start we still have a few completed projects to show you all.  We have had some very inspired people out there, resulting in some very nice takes on the Sketches.  Don't forget to drop into Scrapville to see them on the Gallery wall.... unless they live a long, long, long way away and these are just on the Blog... you'll have to come and see!

Helen

Helen has had a bit of a break from scrapping, and we are all pleased to see her Mojo return with a vengeance!  She has produced some beautiful work in this double layout for the sketch, right down to the pin pointing at the bottom.  Thanks Helen, lovely work.

Shiralee
Ok, who else is impressed?  Check out that ribbon weaving... and nice ribbon to boot!  And also noting here the embossing at the bottom of the page, great effort on your take of the sketch Shiralee.
 Sandie D
You just can't go wrong with October Afternoon.  Sandie has put together a lovely card using bits and pieces of this wonderful range.  Looks great Sandie, thanks for joining in.

I am sure there are a couple more out there still to come in, but never fear, they'll all be uploaded soon enough.  Thanks for sharing girls.

We also have some packs of past months to show off.  Please feel free to keep bringing these in girls, we all love to see what you have all been up to and how you've worked it all.  From the June October Afternoon Pack we have a layout from Roz featuring her cooking up a storm in the kitchen........... or maybe it's a storm in the cooking pot........... or maybe it's the kitchen staff doing the drying up............... or maybe it's just too gorgeous to care either way!!  Super photo of this little man Roz, and the pack has just worked together so well.  Thanks for sharing!

Roz

And from the ever popular Paper Doll Pack from Crate Paper.........
 is Heather's layout.
Thanks for sharing girls, these are all great.  Can't wait to see what everyone else brings in!!
