December Monthly Pack Layouts & Sketch Layouts

Here are a few more layouts to share before Christmas is upon us. Thanks to the girls for getting them in, and to those who cannot see their layout yet............ it's coming! These layouts are using Cosmo Cricket's Circa 1934 from the December Monthly Pack, and once again we have been seeing quite a contrast with the layouts.

Me at 40 by Jennie Seal
 Family by Di Corbit

And here we have a couple more Sketch Challenges. These are due in by Midnight on the 14th January, so there is plenty of time to have a go girls!
Sam has done a couple of layouts using Echo Parks Christmas papers, and the use of these softer colours just adds an element of something simplistic and beautiful.  The stitching is very impressive and must have taken hours!  Well done!

Thank you to for sharing your beautiful work.

December Blind CropVille

With a Christmas theme being the inspiration behind this Blind Crop, the girls got to do a bit of stamping, some punching, glittering, painting and cutting out.  What a wonderful Crop this was, and the layouts all look great.

Sketch Layout

Well it may have taken a tad longer than expected, but here is a Sketch Layout from yours truly!  I am very happy with my little border punched tree and brown paper flowers.  Not quite visible to the naked eye is a Glimmer Misted background of punched snowflakes - but I know they're there....  And my gorgeous little subject is now a whopping 14 years old, and still has that same cheeky grin!

Little Sparkle by Janet Watt

A bit of brown paper, Glimmer Mist and a touch of glitter.

A bit of border punching, inking, mounting up and shaping the branches, the odd snowflake and a touch of glittered dots.

I hope you are able to get through the mayhem and manage to get your Sketches in.  I will be announcing the Nov/Dec Sketch Challenge winners tomorrow, so keep posted!

cheers

Dec/Jan Monthly Sketch

This is the last Sketch Challenge for 2010, and to that part quite appropriate that we add a Christmas theme.  Melinda has once again offered another exciting challenge with the sketch, to take you through the mayhem of the Christmas rush and into the New Year for a midnight on the 14th January, 2011 deadline.
Scrapville December/January 2011 Layout Sketch
These are the Creative Team girls' samples using the Sketch.  I hope you gain as much inspiration from the Sketch as the girls have, all very different and exciting.

Angels of Mine by Marg Oliver (CT)
Just lovely Marg, Glimmer Misting and layering and stitching, and three gorgeous little angels! And here I have added some detail photos of the flowers and the stitching that Marg has added to this layout.

Christmas Tradition by Sally Clark (CT)
Sally has used quite a bit of layering on the Gingerbread Dudes, which look so playful and gorgeous (as does Dylan....).  She has also layered the bottoms of the tree to give more of a layered effect, then used glossy dollops of paint on the red dots and hearts.  Very nicely done Sally.
In these photos you can see the detail of the mounted up Dudes, the gloss on the dots, hearts and alphas, and the gems for a bit of Christmas Bling!
We hope you are given a bit of Christmassy inspiration with this Sketch, although you may interpret it any way you like.  To be in the running for the $20 Scrapville Sketch Voucher the Sketch must be recognizable.  You may turn it or flip it, and you can use anything from your own stash.  If using the Sketch for other projects, please ensure you credit the author.

I will have more to upload for you shortly, and I am really looking forward to seeing what you all do with this one!

Pumpkin Time

I have had to wait until my phone and net lines were repaired before I could upload this post, apologies for the delay.

Hi Everyone, we are almost there again - Pumpkin Time midnight tonight is close off for the Nov/Dec Sketch Challenges.  Have you got yours in???  Come on girls...............

I have a couple of layouts to share with you that have beaten the deadline.  The first is from Roz, and she has used the Scrapville Monthly Pack.
Admiration by Roz Langridge
The use of the fabric in the centre panel has worked in well, and Roz has also drawn on her title from the dictionary text included in the pack.  I think this flows together nicely.
Loved by Kate Clarke
Kate did get this Sketch in with time to spare, and has used stitching and bright colours to tie in with the lovely colours in the background paper.  The title draws my eye straight to the photo, and you just know it's special.  Thanks for sharing girls.

Layouts & Cards for December

Hello Everyone, hope you are all having a lovely weekend.  I have been able to round up a few more Monthly Pack layouts for you, as well as some Sketch Challenges.  Thank you everyone for sharing your work with us all.

First up is not one, but two layouts from our newest CT Member Nikki using the Circa 1934 Monthly Pack.  Using the combination of patterned papers, plain book script and fabric Nikki has used dimension to layer her flowers and leaves.  I think the combination is great, and the fabric  centres in the flowers are very effective.
Family by Nikki Antonello

Detail of the Flowers
Just one Look by Nikki Antonello
With this wonderful pack there is plenty of wonderful chip shapes, and they all add a nice shiny and dimensional look to the layout.  Nikki has used her circle chip to be the focus of her journaling and title, with a spray of small chip flowers and some punched butterflies.  The papers have been layered, with the butterfly border punched on top.

Once again, curling and shaping of the lovely yellow flowers  really draws the eye in to the photo.  Nice work!
Happy Holidays Card by Khristen Foss
Here we have a Card for the Monthly Sketch from Khristen using layering with flowers and a beautiful crocheted doily in traditional Christmas colours, and a few silver brads to highlight the flowers.
1989 Lisa's Deb by Di Corbit
1999 Beth's Deb by Di Corbit
Detail of the Crocheted Butterflies after Glimmer Misting
Di has used embroidered/crocheted embellishments to add to the simplicity of these layouts of her daughters' Deb photos.  The handmade flowers and bling add balance between the two layouts, and simplify each with a real girly appeal.  Looove the Butterflies!
Brothers by Judy Laracy
Judy has taken the Black & White photo and toned it with natural colours and embellishements.  The chip has been left raw, the daisies are natural twine, the buttons mounted onto the circles are stone like, and the paper piecing has got such a lovely colour and design.  I like how this came together.

Thank you everyone for the above Monthly Pack and Sketche Challenges.  You have a week to go for Pumpkin time with the Sketch, and the end of the month for the Circa 1934 pack.  If you can find a bit of time out from all the madness - see if you can get one in!! :0)

Another layout to share!

The December pack has definitely been a favourite for the Creative Team... just seeing us all ogle over each and every paper was a hoot! Cosmo Cricket certainly  have a unique style with their designs and 'Circa 1934' is no exceptio with is vintage patterns and romantic hues in black, red, yellow, teal and neutral tonings!
How charming is this little brad that I made using the fabric from the December pack and my i-top and a medium brad daddy. So quick and easy and a perfect match for the layout. Janet has the i-top in-store and an ample supply of accessories... perfect for your Christmas wish list!
Definitely a pack that has so much versatility and can be used for both the man of the house and with a flip of the doublesided papers to the bright colours and floral prints you can scrap the girls too!
Happy Scrapping!

Scrapville Announcement

Hi Everyone,
We have just announced the newest member of our Creative Team to Scrapville, and I would like you all to join me in welcoming Nikki Antonello to the Team.  I have personally known Nikki for several years, and her style is very much known for it’s intricacies in fussy cutting, layering and beautiful flowers.  Nikki’s work is also something I see as coming from the soul, her journaling has such depth and meaning – and is certainly an inner reflection of the person she is!
I welcome Nikki to the Team, and look forward to sharing the inspirational months ahead with our newest talent.  Below are a few bits and pieces about Nikki:

CREATIVE TEAM QUESTIONNAIRE

I live: Myrtleford, Victoria

I have been scrapbooking and/or card making for: I’ve been scrapping now for about 5 years.

The type of style I like is: I am drawn to layouts that have some portion of ‘white space’ and busy little clusters of embellishments – with elements of texture and dimension too.

The colours I love to work with are: I love girlie papers and pinks, but am lucky that I have 2 boys and a girl, so I get to play with all colours.

The products I love to work with are: I don’t have enough space here…so can I say… paper, flowers, ribbon, glitter, mist…..oh…and rhinestones….

My favorite patterned papers are: This changes….but atm, it’s a tossup between October Afternoon and Cosmo…I love the colour tones and the facts that you can mix and match within the paper ranges.

The people I love to scrap most are: My family….mostly my 3 cherubs, but can also see the importance of recording stories about myself and my husband that they will enjoy reading about some day.

I scrap at: Mostly at night time when little people are in bed. I am very lucky to have a little scrapping room that I can disappear into and leave my mess set up for next time.

I attend Retreats each year with: just little groups of scrappy friends.

I have been published in: Scrapbooking Memories and have layouts pending for Scrapbooking Memories and a feature article / 2 off the page items and instructions to be published in a new publication – Australian Scrapbook ideas.

I am excited to be a Guest on the Scrapville Creative Team because: Janet has such a passion for what she does which shows in her gorgeous store and the fantastic packs of delicious goodies she puts together. She also has an amazing group of girls designing for her and I am thrilled to be scrapping along-side them.

Please feel free to welcome Nikki to the Team.

December Monthly Pack

This is it everyone, the December Monthly Pack, and the last one for 2010!!  Where oh where has the year gone?  Well, to see the year out we have gone with something Cosmic and Mysterious......... no not really but got you thinking!

Cosmo Cricket has released the stunning Circa 1934 range, full of colours and patterns of days gone by in hues of red and mustard and black and shades within.  This wonderful array of patterned papers have been matched up with a little twill, a little pearls, a little flocking on the alphas, an interesting piece of material, some dictionary script, some black bazzil and a piece of kraft.  Isn't that something to go nuts about?  And we haven't even made it to the Booster yet...

Well, the Booster - a nice big 12x12 sheet full of stylish shapes of Circa 1934 chipboard from the era, and a sheet of double sided tags/labels, and those gorgeous yellow Mini Type Cosmo alphas.

This is the Pack all kitted up, with the Booster below it.  This pack is limited to what is on show (unless you are a subscriber), so once they are gone that's it.
