Introducing Heather...

Hi everyone, today is another of our introductions for our new Creative Team Members. We will be finding out a little more about Heather, and sharing some of her gorgeous creative work. Heather is a returning Member who had to take some family time off, and we are very pleased to welcome her back.  Be sure to read on and leave Heather a comment.

Name: Heather Bensley

I live: Wodonga

I have been scrapbooking and/or card making for: 8 years, since my 1st granddaughter was born.

The type of style I like is: a bit of everything. I like white space on a page, but I also like a lot of embellishment as well.

The colours I love to work with are: I love all colours really. Once again I like the photo to determine the colour used on the page. Or if I find some paper that I can’t leave in the shop, I will find a photo to fit.

The products I love to work with are: I love different punches and I love my embossing machine that I can also use with my metal dies.

My favorite patterned papers are: October Afternoon, Little Yellow Bicycle, Graphic 45, Fab Scraps and Authentique.

I people I love to scrap most are: My grandchildren. Now that I have both blue and pink, it opens new colours for me to use.

I scrap at: Scrapville and also with friends.

I attend 1-2 Retreats each year with: Scrapville and also with friends.

I have been published in: Scrapbooking Memories.

I am excited to be a Guest on the Scrapville Creative Team because: I like the challenge of Janet’s Packs and Sketches. I also like to be able to pass on ideas and techniques to other scrapophiles!

And here's a little peek at some of Heather's work:
Peek a Boo
Chloe and Mum
Pride and Joy
Some beautiful layouts here Heather, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful work.  Welcome Heather with me, and leave a comment!

Jan Sketch & Cards to Share

Hi Everyone, today we have the Sketch Challenge to share first up.  These samples have been done by Debi.
My Love... by Debi Clark (CT)
Debi used an assortment of patterned papers from MME and Bo Bunny, as well as Kraft & Bazzill. This layout has such a blokey feel, and the colour tones are great, lots of rawness and natural tones.  It looks to be the perfect spot given today's weather conditions!
Made It Card by Debi Clark (CT)
For the card Debi used MME patterned papers & Kraft as the card base.  A bit of inking, cutting and layering and we have a great take on the Card Sketch.  Well done Debi.

I would also like to share a series of cards made using the Magnolia range from Kaiser. Often you will find a paper in a range that belies how much use you'll get out of it, so Zan put her mind to just seeing what she could do with the quotes and tabs patterned paper, and the Collectibles. These are so simple to put together, and the Collectibles that come with them have heaps to add on. Thanks to Zan for sharing her little creations!

January/February Card Sketch

Here is the first of our Creative Team samples.
Rose Hair Clips by Anita Bownds (CT)
Anita has been busy with her techniques, adding gesso, paint, inks and punches.  The Thickers come up great with a touch of ink, and with the white foamies it's a great way to match your colours.  Well done Anita, just lovely.
Thanks for sharing your lovely layout Anita, and we look forward to sharing more shortly!

You have until Midnight 14th February to enter the sketch challenge.  If you don't have a blog then email your entry to scrapville@iinet.net.au and we will pop it up on the blog for you.
The winner will receive a scrap pack from scrapville

Dec/Jan Sketch Layouts

Hi Everyone, we are now on the downward run for the Monthly Sketch Challenge.  If you haven't got your in yet you still have a few days.  We have some more to share with you below.
The Graduate by Debi Clark (CT)
Welcome Debi with your first layout for the Team! A beautiful photo for starters, with lovely soft colours to compliments. The flowers pick up the colours int he diecut, and I love the vine in black. Nice work Debi.
Happiness Is... by Rita Russello (Italy)
Welcome to 2013 Rita, looking forward to seeing more of your lovely work. I love Rita's big doily, how perfect is that for the sketch, and the pattern is great too. The clouds add just a little bit of whimsy, and the journaling is nicely blended at the bottom to tell the story without intrusion to the theme.
Your First Day at Kindy by Claire Apostoloff (CT)
Here's my last sketch layout...sob! I've used a combination of Little Yellow Bicycle, Echo Park and Authentique papers. I've used Washi tape to make some tabs under the photo and to frame the layout. I also did a bit of faux stitching along the edges of the paper to match the rub on arrows.
Another beautiful layout by Mrs Smith, I really am going to miss you!  Claire has flipped the sketch and used some nice shapes to layer on the photo corner.  I love the title, a great way to use up all those extra bits and pieces that you couldn't string a full title from, and the colour combination works so well.  Just lovely! xxx

Nice to see such beautiful work coming in for the start of 2013.  Time is ticking down though, so keep them coming to beat the Pumpkin!  Thanks girls.

Creative Team Announcement

Hello everyone, and welcome to our very exciting news for the 2013 Creative Team Announcement.  I hope you have been excited about learning who is coming onto the team, and will support me in welcoming the following successful applicants to the Team for 2013, as well as our 2 continuing members.
I am excited and very pleased to welcome the following members to the Team for January to June 2013:
Heather Bensley
Those of you that know Heather will see her from time to time manning the front counter at Scrapville, enjoying a CropVille or running a class.  Her work is a pleasure to share as she continues to unmask her ever growing talent. Welcome Heather!
Debi Clark
Debi is a NSW girl, and works in both 12x12 and A4.  She applies her style across the board, taking on the newest styles and techniques whilst remaining loyal to a shabby and eclectic flair. She has a wonderful way with cards, and I am looking forward to sharing these with you.
Welcome Debi!
Sally Clark (continuing)
Once again we welcome Sally on-board as she continues to surprise and amaze us with her Blind CropVille creations.  Leaving much to the imagination, her skill in putting these classes together with an array of interesting techniques and styles is sure to keep the girls busy yet again.  We look forward to sharing her awesome cards and layouts as well.  Welcome Sally!
Anita Bownds (continuing)
We are delighted that Anita is also remaining on the Team.  She will be taking on some behind the scene's tasks, as well as designing our Monthly Sketch Challenges.  For those that got to know Anita in 2012, you will not be disappointed with her gorgeous creations of whimsy, fussy cutting and layering on her layouts and cards.  Welcome Anita!

Individually I will be putting a little update on the Blog to help you get to know the girls.  I am looking forward to sharing all the wonderful creations that our Team will be submitting to inspire and enlighten you.

Along with our New Team we have a New Shop!  A total re-vamp has given Scrapville a new look, with lots more room for lots more stock!  There is plenty of room in the workshop for all our new classes, and there's no lack of excitement there!

The Blog will also be getting a FaceLift, so keep posted for more changes.

I would also like to extend a big thank you to those that applied for the Creative Team, but were unsuccessful this time.  It was wonderful to receive such interest.  To the departing Creative Team girls, I couldn't be more thankful!  They are just the nicest girls who have done an amazing job creating such wonderful projects each month.  I admire their commitment and dedication, and will miss them on the Team.  To Claire and Deb, a HUGE THANK YOU for sharing your beautiful creations with us all, I thoroughly enjoyed your work.

Please join me in welcoming the New Team in for 2013, and we all hope to see you inspired by their creations.
