December Layouts

Hello everyone, today we have some wonderful creations from a few of the girls, using the Rondelle range from Prima.  I hope you enjoy their inspiration.
Cousins by Claire Apostoloff (CT)
Beautifully done Claire, your fussy cutting and layering is awesome.  The distress inks work really well, and your stitching above the photo adds that little bit more.  I love that photo too, it's just gorgeous and I bet it holds special memories for you.
This is a closer look at Claire's fussy cutting and layering. The Prima centres add a nice touch to the flowers too. Well done Claire.
Picnicking by Zan Boyle
Zan has scrapped a great photo of herself and hubby, Steve out at the Hume Weir. Fussy cutting, mixing the patterned papers and some decorative punching bring it all together. Zan has also layered the Prima flower, paper flowers and journalling tags, and fussy cut the lace motif for a little added softness. Well done Zan.
She Loves Frogs by Anita Bownds (CT)
I love frogs too, but they're mostly chocolate......... He is a bit cute though (boy frog?), and she looks very proud of him! Photos like this are great memory builders, and the scattered effect of Anita's background and layers bring the focus right into the photo.
Lots of dimension and colour in your layers Anita.  Each elements adds something a little different, yet still soft and girly.  Well done, just lovely.

I hope you are all inspired and enjoy seeing what the girls are creating with their December Monthly Packs.  They actually fit under the "tree" too....... just saying!

December/January 2013 Sketch

Hi Everyone, well here we are, the last Sketch for 2012.  Lucky that it runs into 2013 though!  I hope you will find time to have a play, and look forward to seeing what you all come up with.
December/January Sketch Layout
Don't forget, you have until Pumpkin Time on January 14th to complete your challenge.

And now, a little announcement for the November/December Challenge Winner.
Layout Sketch winner:
Jake by Zan Boyle
Zan's sketch layout is a great interpretation of the sketch Layout.  Her layout is easily recognizable, and she has used some wonderful distressing, inking, paper rolling, masking, stamping and misting techniques to highlight this great photo of Jake.  Thank you to all the other challenge entries, we had some lovely takes on the Layout Sketch and this always makes choosing a winner that bit harder.
Card Sketch winner:
Christmas Wishes by Debi Clark
A lovely card by Debi, very story book/vintage with a lovely Christmas theme.  The simplicity is very appealing.  Again, thank you to all the girls who entered this challenge, we are seeing such beautiful cards and appreciate all the entries.

I look forward to sharing more with you all shortly.

Monthly Pack Layouts

Hi Everyone, today we are sharing some wonderful creations using Scrapville's Monthly Pack.  The beautiful Prima papers from the Rondelle range are proving very popular, so I hope you've been able to pick one up.  It's great to see the girls creating with so little time left to get through all the madness before Christmas. Scroll on down and take a look.
Eve's Plaits by Anita Bownds (CT)
What wonderful thick hair Eve has Anita, and FOUR plaits!  wow....  A great use of the pack, with lots of little handmade 'bellies, stitching and stamping - and Anita's wonderful doodling.  Anita mixed light pink paint with gesso and smeared it on the black cardstock in 3 separate places. She then sprinkled pink glitter onto the gesso to give it some sparkle and thickness. Then a few more droplets of pink paint were added over the background.
Yes Ma'am by Deb Pulford (CT)
Deb has kept her layout fairly simple, utilising the orange tones to match her scarf in the photo. Just a bit pf paper tearing and some accents with Spriced Marmalade Distress Stickles, and a Spellbinders Die.  Certainly works well at bringing out the orange tones Deb, I think it has come together very well.

Thanks girls, and we'll have more to share shortly.

Counting Down

The November/December Sketch Challenge is almost at an end, and we patiently await the Pumpkin's midnight toll.  With such a busy time for everyone I'm grateful for the effort you have made to get your challenges in on time.  Everything seems to come to a head as we approach Christmas and everyone is readying themselves for you-know-who, a well earned break, and time to catch up with family and friends.  That's without all the other activities going on as well, break-ups, dinners, concerts, Kris Kringles and the like.  I hope it's all been going to plan!

Today we have a variety of layouts and a card to share, just in time before the deadline.  I hope you can take a minute to enjoy the inspiration and escape the rush!

Great cards girls, it's always good to see how we all intrepret the Sketches.
Daisy Chain by Zan Boyle
This is a great way to use your quilling dies to make flowers. Great design Zan.
True Blue by Heather Bensley
So perfect for boys on this layout, Heather has grunged it up a bit with distressing, tearing, some rosettes and tissue vines. The pennants add a nice touch too.
A little inking on the Foam Thickers helps them blend in a bit more, and the background matches his curls! Lovely Heather.
