July Blind CropVille

Welcome to another Blind CropVille reveal.  Sally put up another great BCV, with the ladies kept busy punching, fussing cutting, machine stitching, distressing, rolling, quilling and layering.  This one really brought out a bit of the individual with many differences in the final layering.  Well done to everyone who took part, and thanks to Sally for putting the Master together.  So, first up we'll take a look at the Master.

Better late than Never!

Today I would also like to share some layouts from a Scrapville regular who has put up a couple of her layouts that didn't quite make the deadline - but I am SO glad she has sent them in.  Working in an A4 format still allowed Kylie to add all her techniques and bits and pieces.

The first is the Scrapburst #1 - Inspiration
Secure by Kylie gW
This has come together so nice Kylie, love the colours and your use of stamping and misting.  I feel the layout draws your eye straight to the photo - very nice.

The second is the last Sketch Challenge, which she just missed out on.
Hawaiian Girl by Kylie gW
A nice take on the Sketch Kylie, the colours work well together and I'm sure that look is just saying "don't even think about touching my hat!.."  Well done Kylie, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

More to Share

Hello Everyone, just wanted to share another layout with you from the latest Sketch Challenge.
Ballet Solo by Michelle Rogers (CT)
Michelle has used paint to represent the background on the Sketch.  The colours give the layout a soft feel, whilst the flowers add a girly touch that compliments the beautiful photos.  The distressing around the border and on the journaling strips give the layout some added texture.
A bit of string or thread in the flowers has given them a more elongated feel, to tie in with the Sketch.
More distressing around the photo border and the nicely toned AC Foam Thickers pull the it together nicely.  Well done Michelle (and well done Miss Amy!)

I will have more to share soon, so don't forget to put your Sketch in when it's done.

cheers

July/August Sketch Challenge

Hello Everyone, and welcome to another Sketch Challenge.  This month we have something a little different, and I hope you find it interesting and inspiring.  If it takes you a little outside your comfort zones, just go with it!  Good luck, and we are all looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
July / August Layout Sketch

And here is our first sample from the Creative Team.
Beautiful Boy by Heather Bensley (CT)
The first of our sketch layouts is from Heather, who has used masking, Glimmer Mist and sewing to pick up the main elements of the sketch.
The different coloured threads sewn to make the trees is very effective, and looks great.  The leaves have been created from a daisy punch, then the petals cut off to make the leaves.  A great way to get a few extra miles out of those punches! And what about those birds?..... I just love them - perfect for a baby boys layout.
Here you can see the masking using the Glimmer Mist, and the delicate effect of a small section of border punched edging.

July / August Card Sketch
I will have some card samples to share with you shortly.  What will you do?

You will have until Pumpkin Time on August 14th to complete your sketches.

A look at some Layouts from Graphic 45

Here we have some more layouts and cards using the Once Upon a Springtime range from Graphic 45.  I hope you were able to pick up a July Monthly Pack, as there is much to feel inspired about when looking at all the gorgeous Storybook papers.  Just have a browse and check out all the wonderful projects the girls have been doing.
Furry Friends by Sally Clark (CT)
This is a perfect example of minimizing the busyness of the papers, just by using the reverse sides.  Still within the same colour range, Sally has added some Glimmer Mising and stippleing to created the slightly webbed background. The layered bunting looks great, and the handcut birds are an added touch.  Sally's "Fancy Fanny" flower (thanks Belinda!) has a scalloped edging, and compliments the colour scheme.  The fussy cut vine and leaves has been mounted and spruced up witha bit of Dimensional Magic.
Gorgeous little birdies...
Fancy Fanny with Pink Pearl button, and fussy cut vines.
A little more punching and layering of the flowers gives them a bit more lift.  The Glitter Chocolate Chip alphas blend in nices with the range also.
Fairies in my Garden by Sally Clark (CT)
There is but no end (no pun intended...) to the fussy cutting and distressing of this range.  Starting in one corner, Sally has worked her way around the border, giving it a very distressed frame.  Added to this is layered fairies with glitzy wings, fussy cut flowers and a some punchies added to some flourishes framing the photo.
The distressed border frame and layered flowers and vines.
I must say I love what Sally has done with the latte webbing, it looks great stitched and gathered.

A glitzy fairy.
Nice work once again from the Creative Team, and so nice to see such variations in their creativity from one project to the next.  Be sure to grab a pack and give it a go.

Off The Page with Graphic45

Hi Everyone, today I would like to share some Off The Page projects that the girls have done.  I might add that the girls both came up with the idea separately, so very similar ideas about what this range inspires.  I will also add the cards the girls have done at the end of the post.
Frame with Family Quote by Sam Epps (CT)
Sam has used the quote on the patterned paper, with some messy stitching around the border which looks very effective.  The frame has been inked to distress the look, and blends in well.

I love this bunch of flowers and leaves, along with their mousy little friend!  The layering and detailed cutting makes it very realistic.
The fairy at the top has been nicely fussy cut, with Sam inking the cut edges to take away the whiteness of the paper.  It has also helped to make the fairy stand out more easily when looking at the frame.
Lilliarna Photo Frame by Michelle Rogers (CT)
Michelle has also used muted tones on her frame to highlight the images and draw focus to the photo, and I love how the fairy on the flower looks like she may take flight any moment....
The edges have been decorated with the patterned paper, and the little picket fence just seems to blend in with the theme.
The title on the frame has worked perfectly on the banner, and even more gorgeous with the bird pulling it along.
Joy Card by Sam Epps (CT)
Sam's card has used several elements from the pack on the card, and they have come up a treat.  With the ric rac cleverly used as a border you would be hard pressed to think it was scalloped paper!  The latte trim has made a gorgeous bow, and the little flower butterfly at the bottom is just delightful.  The quilled body adds something new to the mix.
Once Upon a Springtime Card by Michelle Rogers
I love the tones in Michelles card, and the use of the chocolate webbing with the picket fence just blend so well.  It seems that fairy is jumping from one project to the next..........

Well done girls, beautiful work and so inspiring.  Don't forget to leave the girls a comment to let them know what you think.  I will be uploading more shortly.

cheers
Janet
