Jan Sketch Post #6

The clock is ticking and we're just about at Pumpkin Time........ almost there!  Here is another Sketch Challenges to share.
Adorable by Judy Laracy
Judy has used lots of sparkle on her layout with a very glittery background.  This little baby girl is surrounded by little layered reindeers and a blingy Christmas Tree.  A bright and cheery page, well done Judy.

Thanks for playing along everyone!

Janet

Jan SB Post #11

The countdown is on for Pumpkin Time everyone, Friday 7th Febraury! If you're still working on your ScrapBurst layouts and cards be sure to get them in next week. Today we have more lovely layouts and cards to share, roll down and have a look, and please feel free to leave the girls a comment.
SB #4 - WHITE with PINK & BLACK
So Happy! by Deb Blunden
Deb's layout has used the black as a background, accented by the white flourishes in the paper, the border and the tiny punchies.  The pink and white dot pattern ties in the third colour, and the pink title just jumps out at you, which is just what the photo says!  Well done Deb.
SB #2 - ANIMALS/PEOPLE
Christmas Eve 2013 by Zan Boyle
Zan's Christmas layout has used lots of stamped sentiments and words to form a strip. Ink spatters across this brings in bursts of colour, with some great little die cut to balance out the happy little photo of Christmas Friends. The bauble is a great way to add the title or journaling too.  Well done.
CB #4 - WHITE with PINK & BLACK
Happy Birthday Card by Jennie Seal
It just says Party Girl or Elegance. Either way it's a lovely card with the paper piecing, embossing and sanding. The little butterflies are lovely and the pin is blinged up nicely. Well done Jennie.
SB #2 - ANIMALS/PEOPLE
Part Of The Gang by Sally Dowen
Bright and colourful Sally, those squares are great. The photo is fantastic, and the white space in the background has really lifted the centre focus. What a bunch of crazy dudes! Well done.
Grandma's Garden by Debi Clark
What a great place to be, in Grandma's Garden fossicking around. I'm quietly wondering if the Frangipani's were on the ground before or after they got there? No doubt Grandma would know..... Well done Debi, great colours too.

We're getting closer to the end of the ScrapBurst Challenges, so if you're still working on entries you'd better get a wriggle on!! Thanks for sharing girls, wonderful work.

Janet

Sketch Post #5

Pumpkin Time is fast approaching, so please be sure to get your challenges in for a chance to win a prize.
Amazing & Awesome Card by Zan Boyle
Zan has put together a very blokey oriented card, with a background of text, leaves and time inspired Washi Tape.  The colours are quite neutral for a male, and I'm sure most amazing, awesome men would love this!  Well done Zan.
Bella by Di Corbitt
Well hello again Bella!  Bella is sitting pretty in this sketch post because some twit put her in the wrong section!!  She is much happier now, as is Di, and we get to see her again.  Thanks Di.
Congratulations Card by Jennie Seal
This is such a lovely card, the teal and yellow just work so well on white.  Lots of inking, stamping, embossing, glitter and a handmade flower as well.  Just beautiful.
This is a better look at the layering of the acetate butterfly, stamped, fussy cut and secured at the body.  Well done Jennie.

Pumpkin Time - Midnight Tonight.........

Jan SB Post #10

Today we have some cards and a layout to share for the ScrapBursts.  This has been so much fun with so many entries coming in.  And we still have plenty more to share!
CB #4 - WHITE with PINK & BLACK
Love by Dawn Collins
The dodgy photographer hasn't done Dawn any favours, so apologies for that......  These are wonderful papers, and the colours make it so simple to dress up a card or page in no time at all.  A nice sentiment, a bit of bling and mounting finish it off.  Well done Dawn.
Geek by Isabel Bradbury
How funky are these dimensional tiles? So easily utilized they tend to blend in with whatever your're using them on. Great fussy cutting too Isabel, you should lend your eyes to the photographer............SB #4 - WHITE with PINK & BLACK
Sleeping Beauty by Judy Laracy
What a gorgeous little photo frame decked out with all those flowers.  The layered border stips have such a great effect when toned together, and with a little bling and a sweet little cherub, it comes together perfectly for an overly excited first time Nanna!  Well done Judy.

Thanks girls, and stay tuned for more shortly.

Jan SB Post #9

Hi everyone, today we have more ScrapBursts to share with you all.  I hope you are all enjoying the challenges and having lots of fun doing them!
SB # 1 - NUMBERS
Cherish The Moment by Jennie Seal
Using a sepia photo has worked really well on this page. Lots of black, brown and grey set the tone. The rosette flowers look even more effective with their stitched stems.
Adding stitching, tearing and sanding gives the page a varied look of textures.
Clustering the flowers looks great, love the metal buttons and butterfly. Well done Jennie. SB #3 - RUSTIC with TEXTURES
Brothers by Judy Laracy
When you're using older photos, and I don't mean your heritage type - a rustic or distressed theme can work well. Judy has done a great job curling and distressing the background papers, using paints and inks to bring it all together. The corrugated cardboard and chip shapes compliment the photo so well, and the title is perfect. Well done Judy.
SB #2  ANIMALS/PEOPLE
Mackenzie by Deb Blunden
I think Deb has done a great job on this layout. School photos can be very limiting, but this range of papers has worked beautifully, right down to the blackboard. Well done Deb.

Such an awesome effort from the girls so far. Some really great entries coming through, and all so different. Don't forget, Pumpkin Time is the 7th Feb so you've still got time to join in.

Jan SB Post #8

Today we have a few more layouts to share for the ScrapBurst Challenges.  Just gorgeous work by the girls, scroll down and check them out!
SB #4 - PINK with WHITE & BLACK
Me by Jennie Seal
Jennie has used a mix of textures on this page, along with masks, misting and stamping.  The effect is great, and has meant that a few border strips, lightly layered bunting and ribbon add softness and provide a nice compliment.  Well done.
Shhh.. it's a Secret by Debi Clark
What a lovely layout of little Pippi.  Great combination of masking with textures, diecuts and Washi.  Love the depth in the photo frame, and the delicate tags and cotton.  Well done Debi.

SKETCH CHALLENGE
This layout by Di is actually part of the Sketch Challenges.  I would just like to let you know that it is now in the correct place!  Sorry about the mix up.......
Bella by Di Corbitt

I like the colour combination Di has used to compliment Bella's photo.  The green & white goes well together, and the changing patterns in the other papers has brought it all together.  The arrangement of the different elements and shapes is a nice balance too, well done Di.

Please feel free to leave a comment, the girls would love to see what you have to say.

Janet

Jan SB Post #7

Today we have a couple more ScrapBursts to look at. Haven't we had some great entries so far? Well make sure you keep following the posts as we still have more to come!

SB #3 - RUSTIC with TEXTURES
Family by Jennie Seal
Jennie has used very rustic tones of bronze and copper in her layout. The added metal empheria has blended in really well, adding lots of dimension. The chip title has come up nicely with a bit of colouring and shine.
Not always easy to see unless you have just the right light, here is a better look at the stamped and embossed script. I think it's come up wonderful, and the bronze is a great choice of colour.
More charmed birds - aren't they great?! An eclectic mix of stamps and some charms and bling makes for an interesting addition. Overall a great layout Jennie, well done.
SB #1 - NUMBERS
The Wind Changed by Sally Dowen
Sally's layout has lots of white space and a minimalistic appeal. The rustic textured patterned papers look great, with the slightest distressing. The title tiles blend in nicely as well. Well done Sally.

Stay tuned, we'll have more shortly!

Jan SB Post #6

Here we have another ScrapBurst post filled with lots of goodness!  Everyone has been very busy, and we are seeing wonderful results in their work.  Please join in as we have prizes to give away too.
CB #2 - ANIMALS/BIRDS
Thank You by Zan Boyle
I must admit, I love these little birds whether they are Washi Tape, stamps, dies, punches or charms.  Zan has made great use of her Washi Tape as the focus for her birds, and surrounded it with a lovely bright PP, added distressing and tearing, a bit of ink and there you have it.  Well done.
SB #2 - ANIMALS/PEOPLE
May all your Dreams Come True by Jennie Seal
This is such a happy and relaxed photo of Jennie's kids.  The layout has bright and sharp colours, blending well together against the white space in the background.  By keeping with just a smattering of misting, the background has tied in too.  The bunting and satin flower, metal leaf and shapes compliment it all.  Well done.
CB #4 - WHITE with PINK & BLACK
With Love on your Birthday by Zan Boyle
Zan has blinged up her card with adhesive gems, layered the black dots onto the white, mounted the stamped and embossed sentiment and added a lovely pink rolled flower. A nice girly card with a touch of bling! Well done.

Thanks girls, and we'll have more to share shortly.

Janet

Jan Sketch Post #3

Hi everyone, here we have more entries for the Sketch Challenge.
Libby in the Pink by Dawn Collins
A really soft and girly layout, I think this has come together very well.  The flowers are a great mix, and the patterned papers all work well together.  The border of cotton trim is also very delicate, and tucks nicely under the edge.  And of course the gorgeous photo of Libby in her pretty pink dress tops if off.  Well done Dawn.

You still have time to get your entries in, Pumpkin Time is January 31st.

Jan SB Post #5

In this ScrapBurst post we have both layouts and cards to share.  I hope you'll enjoy the variety in each challenge as we continue to see more interpretations.  Thanks to everyone who has entered so far, there are some wonderful examples.
SB # 1 - NUMBERS
Joys of Summer by Di Corbitt
This is such a gorgeous photo, and really makes the layout. Di's misting of the background has come up a treat, and the distressed paper strips have added great effects. A bit of stippling/masking has helped define the sandy beach. Well done.
CB #1 - NUMBERS
For You by Zan Boyle
This card is in shades of plum, with soft toned bunting, separated by the cutest little flower buttons. Layering, more embossed handmade papers and a single tag for the sentiment. A card for anyone, anytime. Thanks Zan.
SB #2 - ANIMALS/PEOPLE
Our Close ECHIDNA Encounter by Di Corbitt
Fancy having this little fellow wander into your back yard?! Well that's just what happened to Di, I reckon she has done a great job getting this many photos, they can be so fast at scurrying off and digging in. Di has used her distressing, inking and tearing to roughen up the edges of the background and photos. Some extra elements such as the sequins, distressed flower and paper piecing complete the layout. Well done.
CB #3 - MALE/RUSTIC
Happy Birthday Card by Zan Boyle
This is a great Male/Rustic card. Layered in textures such as the leatherlook and embossed papers. A bit of stamping using texture stamps adds more again, with some embossing using UTEE for even more texture. Inking and distressing the edges gives each element definition. A light touch of colour combines the mix nicely. Well done Zan,

Thanks for looking everyone, and we'll be sharing more soon.

Jan SB Post #4

These are some of the 4th ScrapBurst entries, combining White, Pink and Black.  I'm looking forward to sharing a lot more of these as I think we have some great challenges to tackle.  Lots of options for how you can create in each one, even with criteria.  I hope you get a chance to play along.
SB #4 - WHITE with PINK & BLACK
Michelle's... by Zan Boyle
Full Title: Michelle's Breakfast at Tiffany's. Audrey Hepburn eat your heart out!!  What fun, blinged up, girly birthday photos these are!  This layout has drawn the eye to the photos, whilst the photos, masking and touches of pink all give it a crisp, clean look.  Well done.
Wigs!!  What Wigs? by Di Corbitt
They're wearing wigs - I don't believe it!  All the clustered elements around the photo make a nice eclectic mix.  A really nice combination with the border bling and assorted flowers.  The pink background gives the background contrast with it's nice white swirls.  Well done Di.

Which ones have you done?  Pumpkin Time is Feb 7th, so why not get on board?

Jan SB Post #3

This is the post for all things Rustic, Grungy, Textured, Painted, Misted and generally attacked with product! ...in the nicest way of course..  However, do not be deceived, there is still plenty of time for someone to come up with something quite different before the end of this particular ScrapBurst is over.. I'd love to see you give it a go...
SB #3 - RUSTIC with TEXTURES
Water Wheel by Zan Boyle
Zan has used rustic photos of water wheels to centre her page.  Layered and offset they add more balance to the rest of the textures and layering.
Lots of die cut cogs, using different textures and colour adds lots of interest.  The tag and title are also die cut, with layering and distressing on the squares.

Layering from the back, Zan has stamped randomly with the hex stamp, added some chip chicken wire, painted chip cog over distressed textured leather-look paper.  Onto this she has mounted her photos.  Lots of depth and interest, well done Zan.
Brent with Rad.. by Di Corbitt
Full Title: Brent with Rad & Boris.  This one has certainly covered the criteria, what a great layout.  The background paper is very rustic, with overlaying stamped images, embossing and distressing and punching on the edges.  Backing that great photo is corrugated paper, with more distressing to the chip cogs in the foreground.  The ribbon and brass charms are a nice touch.  Well done Di.

Jan SB Post #2

Hello everyone, today we are sharing another ScrapBurst post.  Be sure to get yours in, there are great topics and prizes to be picked up as well!
SB#1 - NUMBERS
Little Red Car by Judy Laracy
So Long Ago by Debi Clark
And here we are with every little boys dream, a little red car to ride in.  Judy has made him the focus by fussy cutting and mounting onto cardstock.  Mounting onto the top layer also draws the eye in.
Debi's layout is so soft and girly, pastel colours and pieces of era emphera add to the theme behind the photo to tie it all in.  Such a contrast for both layouts, thanks girls.
Celebrate With Friends by Deb Blunden
Deb's Numbers page is so cheery and festive.  Lots of colour, a bold title to catch the eye and a nice border of alternating Ric Rac.  I did manage to pop this is the wrong section, but now that I can count it's all fixed!
SB#2 - ANIMALS/PEOPLE
Dog Talk by Judy Laracy
This layout has certainly brought in a bit of colour.  Judy's Animal page is a mix of rustic colour tones, and all things doggie!  A great take on this challenge Judy.
We'll have more to share shortly, so don't forget to get yours in.

Hi everyone, I hope you are all keeping yourselves cool whilst it swelters outside.  Boy what a day!!  Maybe a couple of Cool Layouts will help?? :0)    Today we are sharing 2 more layouts entered into the Sketch Challenge.  Don't forget, you still have plenty of time left to get yours in...
Christmas 2013 by Jennie Seal
Smile by Sally Dowen
Such a difference in both layouts, one with lots of texture and white space, the other softer with doilies, lace and florals.  This is what makes the challenges so interesting.  Thanks for playing girls.

Jan SB Post #1

And we're off!  This is our first ScrapBurst entry for challenge Number 1, which is actually Numbers.  Your requirements are: 1xphoto, 2xtypes of distressing, 3xword title, 4xpatterned papers, 5xthings the same.
83 Years Young by Zab Boyle
I just love this background paper by BG, great for masculine pages, the Old Fella and especially those little stegglers.....  The patterned papers used are good blokey colours, and just a little variation in the edging can really change up a page.  And how versatile is that film strip Washi?  A very clean page, with Dad sitting up there as happy as too!  Great page Zan.

I'm really looking forward to seeing and sharing so much more of your Bursting creations!

Jan Sketch Post #1

Hi everyone, today we are sharing our first Sketch Challenge.  Another great design by Anita, I hope you're having fun with it.
Michelle by Zan Boyle
The full title of this layout is "Happy 30th Birthday Michelle", but it wouldn't quite fit up the top!  Zan has used lots of pretty pink and bling on her layout, picking up on Michelle's bling in the photo and the fire on the cake :0)  The variety in the bunting looks great with a mix of colours and sizes placed nicely over the doily, and Zan has even managed to sneak in a bit of sewing - great effort!  Loving that border bling strip too, looks great.  Thanks for your entry.
