Hello everyone, as we begin to approach the end of May we have some more Monthly Pack Layouts and a Sketch Layout to share with you all.  A lot of the monthly pack layouts that have been brought into Scrapville have been using a bit of white space, which is always interesting with the vibrant colours in this Pebbles range.  We have a couple that have mixed it up a bit, so look on....

The first layout has used lots of colour, and broken up the white space with the masking of a doily behind the photo, sprayed with pink Glimmer Mist.  The punched butterfly shapes edged in pink also tie in nicely to the GM.  An added feature of the layout is the row of handmade rolled and layered flowers using the brightness of the Pebbles papers.  These tie in well with the colours in the section below.  Jennie has also added a few small punched flowers to scatter amongst the stems.  Nice work Jennie.

Glimmer Misting mask on the doily, and the butterflies.
The handmade flowers with a bit of DM to add some shine.

The next two layouts to share have both opted for a bit more colour, using the extra cardstock in the pack, and a blue patterned paper for their backgrounds respectively.  With some colourful handmade flowers and punched shapes, a bit of fussy cutting and some mounting tape and we end up with a very nice balance on the page.  The lovely trims and ribbon in the pack have added a bit more softness with their wonderful colours and design.
U Make me Smile by Karyne Clayton

Karyne has added a bit of glitter to the title frame and the flower shaped buttons, which ties in nicely to that beautiful sparkly ribbon.

More handmade flowers mixed amongst the hand cut flower, topped with the flower shaped Pebbles buttons, and set to the edge of the nice chunky grass.  Thanks for sharing girls, great work.

For a bit of outside the square, Sam has come up with something very different for her take on the May/June Sketch.  Using lots of texture this time round, Sam has used lots of tissue pattern papers, glued and stitched, a splash of paint and some Glimmer Mist stamping to work the page.  Also using fibres and a chip shape -  sprayed with GM then coated with Dimensional Magic, really sets off the photo of Joshua.  Some silver accents scattered across the page tie it in nicely.  Well done Sam for "going outside the square!"
Dream Big by Sam Epps (CT)

A bit of Glimmer Mist on the doily, then pieced in behind the tear and laced up with twine.
The chip shape framing the photo, GM and DM on top.
The silver charm adds a nice touch in amongst the fibers, and a smattering of white paint.  Well done Sam, I love what you've done.

Always nice to see what you have done with your Monthly Packs and Sketches, thanks for sharing girls.

Check out the Blind CropVille

Here we go people, the much anticipated Blind CropVille layouts.  I hope you enjoy seeing the girls' work as much as they enjoyed doing them.......... eventually!  It still amazes me how differently a photo or the placement of elements can change a layout, especially when everyone has the same instructions and can end up in an entirely different direction.  Always an interesting Crop.  Now, to share the layouts.

May Blind CropVille

Hi everyone, just a quick update to give you all a little peek of the BCV on Saturday.  At the moment I am sharing the Master Layout, the rest I will be uploading after Monday.  So here is a qucik look at what the girls had to work towards.
Mothering by Sally Clark (CT)
Such a beautiful layout, featuring Mothers and Mothering.  This layout has lots of punching, mounting and a multi photo theme.
Fussy cutting of the tree trunk and hearts, an acetate base and lots of punched flowers.
The heart has been stitched and mounted up.
The staggered layering of the photos, and the mounted up tree trunk.
The smaller hearts have been attached to the tree trunks, with knotted floss threaded through the button holes.

I must say, the girls had a real "Love/Hate" relationship with their instructor, and the creator of the master layout this BCV, but thankfully came out loving it!  I'm looking forward to sharing the girls layouts shortly.

April/May Sketch & May Pack Challenges

Here are the last of the Sketch Challenges that found their way through the doors of Scrapville a skip and a beat before the Pumpkin landed!  Thanks to the girls who managed to get them in, and I hope you all enjoy seeing what has been created.
All Smiles by Fiona Tuckwell
These colours work really well together, a real boy page.
Spread your Wings by Jenny Dewar
Nice soft colours, even the blue works in well with the pinks on this one.  Jenny has done a good job tying all the colours in together with Lucy's outfit.  Again we are seeing a bit of work with the Cricut.

There are still a couple more to share, and they'll be uploaded shortly.

And here we have some more from the Happy Go Lucky range from Pebbles using the Monthly Pack.  It's good to see everyone getting so much use out of this one as well.
Family Outing by Belinda Nash
Belinda has made good use of her layout with multiple sized photos.  The patterned papers have been used to work in with the photos, title and flower.  A bit of hand written journalling in one of the frames also adds anice touch, the font looks great.
Here we can see one of the flowers that Belinda made in the Flower Technique class.
Smile by Sam Epps (CT)
Sam has taken advantage of the great colours in this pack by pulling in lots of white space, and balancing it out with the softness of the pinks and light green dots.  A bit of decorative cutting with the Cricut Expression has made the pink frame behind Tori's photo, and a spattering of pink Chalkboard helps to accent those gorgeous buttons on the white space.
A closer look at the hand made flowers from the Flower Tech class, some hand stitching using a layer a colours, and one of the gorgeous Pebbles ribbons from the pack.
A closer look at the decorative pink circle frames.

Laughter Card by Sam Epps (CT)
Still using the Monthly Pack, Sam has put together another beautiful card.  The frame is from the embossed sticker sheet, along with the cute little birdie.  Again, the flower and ribbon add something special.
A closer look at the detail of the layers and mounting.
Dream by Sam Epps (CT)
Sam has applied more fussy cutting to this layout, adding layers and some glitter.  The border punched strips add a nice ruffled effect beneath the photo.  The flourishes have been adhered with chunky glitter, and the effect is brilliant.  The white space and brightness of the colours really draw you in, well done Sam.
The borden punched strips looking a bit ruffled.
The glittered flourishes and embossed stickers.

I hope you all enjoy using this pack, everyone's samples have come up so nice.  Thanks for sharing everyone!

May/June Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone, and welcome to another month of Sketch Challenges.  To take part in this challenge, please ensure you keep the sketch recognizable, although you can turn, rotate or flip the sketch.  Use anything from you stash, and techniques such as inking, stitching, misting, painting etc are allowed.  Don't forget to get your challenges in before Midnight on the 14th June. Thank you to Melinda for this month's Sketches, and good luck everyone.

Snow by Sally Clark (CT)
Sally has been busy with her Cricut Expression once again.  All the shapes and title have been cut out, and the asterix snowflakes were also cut out using the double sided adhesive paper, and covered in fine glitter.  The title is two different cardstocks, one covered in Dimensional Magic, and the other was cut using vellum.
The title, scallop circle dotted with bling to add a bit of sparkle.
A closeup of the glittered asterix, which came up really well.  These were also mounted up alternately for a bit more depth.

I'm looking forward to seeing your cards, this is a lovely sketch which I'm sure will come in very useful.  The girls will have more sample for you to check out shortly.

Creative Team Guest

It's time for another announcement from Scrapville, so I thought I would update you all with the introduction of another Guest to the Creative Team.   With such a busy life these days Scrapville has been lucky enough to rotate a couple of girls month about.  This enables us to inspire you with a variety of their work and styles.  The Creative Team would like to join me in introducing Sarah Wood as our newest Guest  Member.

Firstly, I would like you all to admire some of Sarah's latest layouts and cards using the May Monthly Pack, with the wonderful Pebbles "Happy Go Lucky" range.  With time to beat the Pumpkin, we also have a layout from the April/May Sketch.  When you've had a look at her lovely work, please read on below to learn a little more about Sarah, and feel free to leave a welcoming comment!  We like comments!!

Smile by Sarah Wood (Guest CT)
Lovely use of the colours at the border, and bursting with colour also to tie in with the flowers and circles and birdies around the photo. The Ric Rac has added a nice touch to balance it out too.
Detail of Sarah's rolled paper, fussy cutting and layering.
The bling on the heart chain adds a nice touch, along with the pinched flower.

Laughter by Sarah Wood (Guest CT)
Sarah has used the Pebbles stickers to add the title frame and flower stem, then added some cutting and mounting, and a touch of bling to the border.

That Face by Sarah Wood (Guest CT)
Once again Sarah has used bursts of colour on her Sketch Layout. She has also covered the title in coordinating papers, glittered and 3D'd the butterflies to give them a bit of "dance".  But who's looking at the butterflies, I'm wondering what "That Face" is all about??...
Detail of Sarah's fluttering butterflies using embroidery thread to make the flight chain. A nice way to give movement to a layout with the thread being sat up off the page in places.
