Ezy Pzy Kits, Sketch Challenges & More

Today we have more to share from Scrapville's newly released Ezy Pzy Kits..  These are budget kits that we've put together, complete with a quick and easy co-ordinated papers, cardstock and embellishments, and all for $10.

Xmas by Anita Bownds (CT)

I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder and pressed it into my background paper.  I then sanded tops of the dots with a sanding block.  I cut all my patterned paper bits referring to the sketch.  I embossed the punched strip and leaves and sanded them.

Then I made a flower rose from a strip of patterned paper, added my title, and doodled around my patterned paper.

August Challenges

Here are some more layouts to share using the August Monthly Pack. I hope you enjoy seeing what the girls have done.

Fishing with Eve by Anita Bownds (CT)

I ruled a 1 inch line around the borders of my patterned fish paper, then cut it out, fussy cutting around the fish so that they would look like swimming fish.

I used gesso with water color paints and spray mists on my cardstock. I used the pale blue webbing and Mulberry Paper to make flowers and punched a circle for the middle.

The fish border looks great Anita, and the handmade flowers have come up great. Well done.

Selfy by Sally Clark (CT)

The acrylic shapes are so much fun! I also added some bling to the hibiscus flower and adhered it to the photo with Dimensional Magic, which dries clear and can't be seen underneath transparency. I used my Cricut Expression and patterned paper for the title, which I finished off with a layer of Dimensional Magic.

I stamped some images using Versamark and wiped over the images using chalks/pastels in pale blues and greens to create a subtle background.

I then fussy cut some of the shapes from the background papers and used Magic Mount to adhere them to the layout to create some dimension.

To create the soft fluffy edges on the mulberry paper, I painted lines with water where I wanted it to tear and carefully tore along the lines. I had the frame in my pack and cut it in half, added some bling and adhered to the layout peaking out from beneath the photo.
This is a great layout Sally, the colourful flowers look bright and fresh, and the Dimensional Magic highlights give it shine.  The differing layers of the trims and flowers add depth to the page.

August Monthly Pack

Striped Seapike by Anita Bownds (CT)

A beautiful bright and fun fishing layout by Anita, making good use of her transparency shapes and die cut.  The textured background has been done using a mask, and the flower has been added from the strip in the pack. 

The chipboard letters have been painted to blend in, and I love the colours all combined in a white-spaced theme.  Well done Anita.

Tick, tick, Authentique

Whilst the Pumpkin is ticking away we have a few more layouts to share using Authentique's Fresh range.  Providing there are a minimum of 4 entries, you could be a winner like Beth or Delsie and win next month's pack FREE.  You have to be in it.....

All of it is Ordinary... by Sally Clark (CT)

"All of it is ordinary to everyone but me" was a word strip from the alpha-word sticker sheet in the pack and was perfect for these pics.  I trimmed the pics down to a small square and inked all the edges with black Staz-On ink and used mounting tape to mount them to the Layout.

I chose a word sticker to adhere to each photo and added some accents to some of the paper squares.

I trimmed some of the patterned papers to small squares, inked the edges and added some doodle lines before adhering to the Layout.

Laguna Muyal Layout by Sally Clark (CT)

 The double page layout showing both pages.

I cut the mesh ribbon in half lengthways and held it in place along the edge of the cardstock and sponged over the top with Distress Ink to create a background and also to colour the mesh.

I cut the length of coloured mesh into smaller strips, punched small holes in the LO and threaded the mesh strips through the holes and tied in double knots to secure.

I once again used the word stickers for my journalling.

A great pack with heaps of bits and pieces left over!!!

A great pack with lots of bits and pieces. Good to see a double Sally, and just loving all that inking and tearing. The alpha stickers make short work of journaling, so that's a bonus too.

July/August Sketch Challenge

Happy Birthday Card by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

Claire's card for the Sketch has used the gorgeous La La Land Prince Luka stamp, and a combination of colourful copics to colour in the little prince. A gold leafing pen has been used to colour in his crown, with a bit of added bling for a bit of sparkle. Claire cut the chevrons from our American Crafts paper and added a BasicGrey button and some bakers twine. The chevrons in the background make a great effect, and were done with the help of a tutorial.
Well done Claire, great colouring of the little Prince, and the crown looks fantastic.

Authentique Pumpkins...

Brown River by Sally Clark (CT)

I know it is close to Pumpkin Hour but I made it!! I really wanted red for my title so used the white cardstock in the pack and my Cricut Expression to cut out the title.  I then coloured it with a red marker and finished it off with some Dimensional Magic.

I cut a picture from the postcard paper and also cut a postcard image to the same size, then adhered them together.

I made an envelope for it to fit into.  The back of the picture is used for journaling.

I also LOVED the red webbing already threaded ready to gather to create a nice big accent.

I LOVED using the word stickers from the pack to create my journalling. I added a little corner accent with a fancy machine stitch and used the same stitch to adhere the mesh ribbon.

Well done Sally, your layout has come together beautifully.  Love the envelope and that embellishment using the webbing and trim.

Sharing more Authentique

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all enjoying your Authentique Monthly Pack. It's been great seeing what everyone is coming up with. Today we have more to share with one of our creative ladies stepping outside the square. How good is it to see other ways of using your scrapbooking techniques, whilst adorning your home at the same time!

Beach Babes OTP by Anita Bownds (CT)

I started with a blank mdf heart, I painted it white then stamped a flourish around the edges in blue and brown. I matted my photos on patterned paper, and punched a border strip for the bottom of my photos.

Then I cut out 2 shells from the patterned paper and made a flower using a die and put a brad in the middle. Next I added a bit of red trim and a bit of the cream webbing to the back of the flower and a little twine bow.
This is great Anita, and such a fresh adornment for your home.  Well done.

Sitting Forward by Nicole McNamara

This is Nicole's 2nd layout using the Authentique Monthly Pack.  A great use of the kit elements to showcase Chloe's first ride in her car seat, Facing Forward!  The flower with it's webbing, the arrows and the pin look great.  The little postcard is a great way to journal as well.  Well done Nicole.

A Little More Authentique....

Mitch's Cheesy Grin by Deb Pulford (CT)

Firstly, I printed the pic and placed it on the background cardstock. Next, I ruled the lines for the sunburst pattern, adjusting all the time to get the look right. When I was happy with the layout, I placed the layout on top of the patterned paper that I wanted to use, and pierced holes where I wanted to make the cut to fit the shape.  That was the time consuming bit!  I added from the Monthly Pack kit the sticker strip of text, some bare chippie alphas, 2 flower buttons and the pearl pin, and a piece of the blue ribbon.

I have to admit that this is my absolute fave layout of this year so far, those Authentique patterned paper's are the best. Yes, looks great Deb with all those different patterned papers.  The hues really suit the b&w photo of Mitch too.  Well done Deb.

Cronulla Beach by Nicole Mcnamara

With these papers I couldn’t go past beach photos and decided to make a beach scene. Unfortunately the details of it don’t show up so well in the photo.  I also used white ink in the sky to make subtle clouds.

I did a bit of paper piecing with the sand castle and kite, and inked all the edges in the sand section to help them be seen.

I have also torn the water patterned papers to make them appear more like waves.

Caitlin by Beth Metcalf

Beth has used a patchwork of colour and patterns to form the background of her layout.  In addition to this, she has also embossed the squares, adding ink and glitter to some to give more definition.  The ribbon with it's small bow adds a nice soft touch.

Tiny paper flowers with pearl brad centers and light inking adorn the photo.  The patterned paper squares are inked around the edges as well.

Well done everyone, a great mix of inspiration.

July/Aug Sketches

Little Sunshine Girl by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

I've used some of the MME patterned papers on this month's sketch. The background paper was a bit too heavily patterned for the other papers so I whitewashed it and added a few sprays of yellow Glimmer Mist. The lace has been also been dyed, using some blue Glimmer Mist.

I've done lots of doodling around the edges of the patterned paper and doodled some flowers on white Bazzil to match Carys' outfit.  I've matted her photo against a huge chipboard journaling spot and added a bit of bling. I've altered the sun diecut by adding a little dimensional magic to the rays, and a sprinkling of very fine glitter.


Great colours Claire, such a good mix for that little bundle of Sunshine!!  Well done.

Authentique Layout

Today we have another layout to share from the July Monthly Pack.  The layouts are certainly proving to be an inspiring mix of styles. I hope you are enjoying yours!

Same Day Different Time by Deb Pulford (CT)

I printed the pics in b&w, which I think is a better match for the papers.  A very simple layout with the emphasis on the pics. I cut a strip off the bottom of the background pp and added the wave paper.  I made concertina folds on a strip of the Kraft cardstock, and misted with Mel's Diner Glimmer Mist.  I then tried to fold this to look a bit like a seashell.  The cream webbing was pleated and stapled along the bottom of the wave strip, and I used a couple of the journaling sticker strips and the wooden button on top of the photos.


The b&w photos certainly tone down the layout Deb, and I'm loving the hint of red everyone is using with these papers.  Well done.

July/August Sketch Challenge

The Sketch Challenges for July/August are due in pumpkin time August 14th.  Your sketch can be created by using the design as is, by turning or flipping the design.  The challenge will not be accepted unless the Sketch is recognizable from your creation.  There must be a minimum or 4 entries to qualify for a prize pack.  Have fun, we look forward to seeing what you come up with.

July Monthly Pack Creations

She is my Sunshine by Anita Bownds

I doodled a border around my cardstock, adding decorative little hearts on the border.  I added some mist to the background cardstock.  The cream webbing made a nice base for my layered flower, and the red webbing along the patterned paper strip is soft and bright, blending in with the mists and flowers.

I used bubble wrap dabbed into blue paint to add to the background.  I used a postcard from the Authentique postcard paper to journal on, adding patterned paper strips to make ribbons.  A bit more webbing and another layered flower balance out the page.

Well done Anita, loving your use of paint and mist.

Just a Note Card by Sarie Los

Sarie used a mixture of inks and markers to edge the border of the papers, and she had fun with a her corner punches.  The pinwheel flower hs come up a treat, centered with a flower and some bling.

I like the softness of the red webbing behind the middle panel, with the cream webbing used to make the ribbon.  Well done Sarie.

June/July Sketch Layouts

Here are some more layouts for the Sketch Challenge.

Mum's Photo Shoot by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

The canvas stickers are Basic Grey and the hearts are cut from some lace paper, which I've painted red.  Lastly, I've sponged some red ink around the edges of the layout.

I've used a Nestability die to cut the hearts from some Crate Paper and did some faux stitching around the edges with a white marker. I painted some corrugated card with some gesso and covered it with a transparency by MME. The leaves have been decorated with a bit of bling. I've stitched down the centre of the hearts and added some twine which I've looped and stapled to the layout.

Go Pony Go! by Sarie Los

Sarie has used many different elements to put her sketch together. The combination of patterned paper to show the sky and the trees is great for the layout's theme, and the fences are handcut.

This is a great shot of the Pony cutting loose. The patchwork has been machine stitched, and the flourished pattern is little horseshoes. Well done Sarie.
