August Monthly Pack Creations

Hi Everyone, here are some more wonderful Monthly Pack creations to share with you, all using the lovely Haven range from Jenni Bowlin.  You still have a few days to pick one up if you haven't done so already.
Hush-a-Bye by 'Zan Boyle
Daddy's Girl by 'Zan Boyle
Granny Clark and Little Me by 'Zan Boyle
'Zan has managed to get 3 layouts out of this pack, and they are all wonderful and so different.  This is a great example of how versatile our Monthly Packs at Scrapville can be.
Re-member by Heather Bensley (CT)
Heather has chosen to use the Burgundy for her background, and this has worked very well.  The B&W photo has worked in well with the papers.  The layering of the torn patterned papers adds an eclectic feel to the layout as well.  I'm sure your Mum would love this Heather!

Here we have a close up of Heather's fussy cutting of the cherries and butterfly, and the free sitting mounted up wings of the butterfly.

We also have some cards to share with you, made using the Monthly Pack as well.
The girls have certainly been busy with their lovely creations.
Happy Birthday to You Card by Sarah Wood (CT)
Sarah has made an upright card, giving it some "white space", which adds a nice feel to it.  The scattering of gems looks great behind the butterflies.
Friends Card by Michelle Rogers (CT)
Michelle has been busy playing with her Copic Markers and her Monthly Pack! This gorgeous stamp from LaLa Land lends itself to this card very well, and the colours have combined very nicely.
thanks Card by Heather Bensley (CT)
Lots more fussy cutting from Heather here with double layering on the butterflies and the flowers.  Lovely balance of colour and patterned papers.

I hope you've gained some inspiration from the creations above, or simply enjoyed looking.  We will have more to share shortly!

Sharing some more Sketch Challenges

Hi Girls, here are the last of the July Sketch Challenges to share with you.  Thanks to the girls for getting them in on time, only the dreaded lugy has prevented me from getting these posts up earlier!

AUGUST BLIND CROPVILLE

Hi Everyone, this month's Blind Cropville was a nice bright layout with diecuts, masking and stitching.  We saw lots of stitching with our new Sew Easy piercing tool, and some interesting placements with the photos.  Overall the girls had a good time, and once again came up with some beautiful layouts.

The Master Layout is by Sally, and thanks again for keeping the girls active with new techniques.

So there you have it, lots of nice white space on this one, stitching, using die cuts, distress inks and masking.  Thanks to Sally for putting this together, and to Michelle and Sarah for sharing the load and running the early class whilst I was at the Wodonga Scrapbooking Show.

Due to RetreatVille next month, the Blind CropVille will be held at Myrtleford on Thursday 8th September (you can book at Ruby's), and at Scrapville on Saturday 10th of September. Please ensure you book early.

Apologies for the lateness of this post, the dreaded lugy slowed me down a bit, then the technical department had some issues with the images from the BCV.  For those of you that stopped by and checked out the layouts in the Scrapville Window of Fame, thanks for your lovely comments.  I will also be putting some layouts into Ruby's shortly for those of you that would like a close look!

August / September Sketch Challenges

August/September Monthly Sketches
Hello everyone and welcome to another month of Sketch Challenges.  This month the Creative Team came on board and decided to put up the Sketches for this month.  Thanks go to Michelle and Sarah for putting this one together.  The winners for last months Sketch Challenges will be announced on the 20th of August.  Close off for these sketches is midnight on September 14th.  First up, here are the Sketches and some samples from the girls.
Layout Sketch

  Sam by Michelle Rogers (GCT)
This really is a very clean cut layout, focusing on clean lines, inking and doodling to separate the papers and tie in the borders.  Great colour choice for the ever changing youth of today, with added skulls, guitars and a bit of climbing as well.
Summer Fun by Sarah Wood (GCT)
Sarah has chosen some colourful papers from Cosmo Cricket to add to the summery theme of her photos.  The colours all blend well, and the added 3D cutouts give it an added lift.  Sarah has also added some inking to the background to soften the white space.
 Card Sketch
Thanks Card by Sarah Wood
Happy Birthday Card by Michelle Rogers
Michelle's card was created using the new stamps at Scrapville, and the Copic Markers.  Great to see the Copic Club presenting such beautiful work.
(LLLove this stamp!)
Hope you enjoy this one, and thanks again girls for the inspiration.  And don't forget to come in and check out these gorgeous stamps!

Sharing from the Monthly Pack & Sketch

Hello everyone, today we have a few more layouts and cards to share using the Jenni Bowlin "Haven" range.  Again we are seeing some different takes on this pack, so I'm very impressed with the extent of your creativity.  Nothing like a pack challenge to get you thinking!
Grandma's Treasures by Sally Clark (CT)

The focus for Sally's layout came entirely from the Common Objects patterned paper.  Having acquired lots of lovely objects from her Grandmothers, Sally was inspired to create a little booklet on her layout which allowed her to add more photos, and utilize more of the papers onto the layout as well.  The colour theme worked really well, with Sally printing her photos onto smooth cardstock.
First Trike by Roz Langridge
These layouts and cards are from the Monthly Sketch Challenge, which is due to close at midnight on the 14th August.  Be quick, we're almost there!!
Wanted by Michelle Rogers (GCT)
Michelle has used her August Monthly Pack to put together this layout of a very young Mr & Mrs Rogers in their wilder days.... right!  The papers worked really well with the theme of the photos.  The sheet music has been used as a background, edging slightly with a burnt effect.  The row of patterned paper circles have been cut from various pieces of the pack, and distressed nicely back to the white core.  Nestled behind is a layered length of the lace and gimp.

The handmade flower tops it off.
For You Card by Roz Langridge
The photo really hasn't done this card any justice.  The colours are great, and the fold out in the centre that flips the sentiment works well and also looks great.  A very effective card.
Inside of flip card.

Cherry Cherry Baby by Roz Langridge
I love how Roz has used the photo sequence with this sketch, as well as using the Monthly Pack to do it.  They have worked so well together.

Thanks for sharing girls, loving the very different takes this Monthly Pack is bringing out in your creativity.

More Monthly Layouts to share

Hello everyone, today I would like to share a few items from the August Monthly Pack.  Haven by Jenni Bowlin is proving very interesting in the results from the girls thus far.  All so different, and very pleasing to look at.  It's also nice to see the flowers from the Flower Tech Classes popping up on the layouts and cards along the way.  I'm glad everyone is enjoying the creativity.  Please feel free to leave the girls a comment.

Santa's Little Helpers by Sam Epps (CT)
Sam has used the Haven pack to compliment some hands on detail in her layout!  As you can see, a bit of fussy cutting with the leaves and stems, decorative scissors on the black border, some beautiful flowers from the Flower Tech classes and a mega effort at those stitched circles.  Yes, they are stitched, each and every one!  Sam has also printed her photo onto a Canvas textured paper for a grainier effect.  Well done Sam.
A bit more detail on those flowers.  One is made using the black cardstock, the other using patterned paper sheet music.

For those like myself that have to strain their eyesight a little, you can see the detail in Sam's very fine stitching.
Think by Kylie gW
Well we've all been there, lost in thought and contemplation, and this photo of Kylie says it all.  She just "thinks too much!"  I'm just loving what everyone is doing with this pack, all so very, very different.  Kylie has done some fussy cutting, punching and layering for quite an eclectic look.  I really like how it's come out.
Get Well Soon card by Sam Epps (CT)
Sam's card looks to be a simplistic design, but things aren't always what they seem.  The trims work well with the Kraft, and inking and mounting up the sentiment help it to stand out.  The black cameo chip blends nicely into the background patterned paper, surrounded by that beautiful fine stitching all around the edge. Well done Sam.
A better look at the chip and the stitching detail.

You still have time to pick up one of these packs and see what you can come up with.  The girls have really put their minds into this one, coming up with a different take on each one so far.  We're looking forward to seeing what you can do.
