Creative Team Guest Announcement

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Scrapville Announcement.  2011 certainly is proving to be an exciting year for us, if only to introduce more amazing talent to the Guest List!

Firstly I would like to thank Nikki Antonello for being on the Team, and for all her beautiful contributions (my office is looking great at the mo' too incidentally....  :0) ).  As we must farewell one Member, we also gain another.  Today I would like to share with you all our newest Member to the Creative Team.  She has already been sharing her wonderful work with you all over the past few years, and will now take new steps to Design for Scrapville over the next couple of months, and we are so excited to have her on the Team!

Please welcome Michelle Rogers to the Team, and read on below to get to know her a little better.

Name: Michelle Rogers

I live: Myrtleford , Victoria.

I have been Scrapbooking and/or Card Making for: I started Scrapbooking about 9-10 years ago when my son was only a baby, when l was asked to attend my cousins Scrapbooking Party. l said l wasn't interested but would come for a cuppa, but was hooked straight away! LOL.

The type of style l like is: I think my style of Scrapbooking is very simplistic, and l always try to add journaling to my pages.

The colors l love working with are: Having both a boy and a girl l tend to use lots of different colors. I tend to look at the colors in my photos and pick my papers from there.

The products l love to work with are: Loving my Quilling Tools & Border Punches at the moment, and l love using my Copic Markers for my Card Making.

My favorite patterned papers are: Kaisercraft would have to be my favorite. Echo Park and the Crate Paper ranges have also caught my eye lately.

The people l love to scrap most are: My two beautiful kids are my inspiration for Scrapbooking.

I scrap at: Mostly l scrap at home, and I love it when the girls come and join me when time permits. I also enjoy attending crop nights, and last month l attended one of Janet’s Blind CropVilles and now I’m totally hooked.

I do/do not attend Retreats each year: A small group of friends try to organize at least 1-2 weekend retreats together each year.

I am excited to be a Guest on the Scrapville Creative Team because: I think we all get our inspiration from our friends, magazines and blogs. l love looking at all the different techniques and ideas on the Scrapville Blog, and feel very excited to be able to share my Scrapbooking and Card Making with everyone. I hope I can inspire others as well. I'm looking forward to working with Janet and the Creative Team.

Thank you Michelle, and below I would like to share some of Michelle's work.  This first layout is from the April Monthly Pack, using the City Park range from American Crafts.

Just 2 Cute by Michelle Rogers (CT)

And here we have some of Michelle's amazing cards using the same pack.
New Baby Girl Card
This range of papers is even more versatile given the embossed patterns on several of the papers.  Here we can see the ducks are embossed, as are the hearts.  Layering, glitter and distressing brings it all together.
 Congratulations Card
A more defined distressing effect has allowed Michelle to grunge up a bit of pretty paper.  Layering, glittering and doodled stitching all add interest.
Happy Birthday Card using the Copic Markers
Those of you that discovered these wonderful little clear stamps will know the joys of your Copic Markers.  They are wonderful stamps to work with and colour up nicely.  Michelle has added some fussy cutting, mounting and a border punch to add a bit more cuteness to the forest!
From the last Sketch Challenge we also have this layout of a very "young love" - which is as strong now as it was then.  We are seeing the background of stitching, pearl and bling flourishes, a misting with Glimmer Mist, and a mix of flower embellishments from handmade to crocheted......... although the crocheted ones are indeed handmade, just not in this instance!
True Love by Michelle Rogers
 Detail of the flowers.
Please join me in welcoming Michelle to the Team, we'd love to read your comments.
