March Layout and Card Challenges

Hi Everyone, it's time to share more of the completed projects using the March Monthly Pack, compliments of the beautiful Jillibean Soup range.  We have a pretty mixed bag with this pack, the girls have been coming up with all manner of colour combinations - which is great to see.  Take a look and see what you think, and please feel free to leave a comment.

Wish Upon a Star by Sam Epps

 This detail shows how Sam has used her chipboard to cut out and shape the leaves.  She has then backed these with the webbing. The flower has been made by folding paper squares and layering.  Note the nice little piercing simulating the "flutter trail..."

 If you look around the edges of Sam's layout you will notice the torn flaps are also backed with black cardstock and the webbing.  All comes together nicely with a little black ink to accent.

 In this close up we can see the detail in Rosanne rolled flowers.  You'll also notice that she has fussy cut the image of her daughter and mounted it up.  Swirling nicely along the bottom bracket is a nice bit of stitching with vellum butterflies spread about.  Nice work Roseanne.

 Here we have a Card for the Sketch from Lauren.  She has it named, stamped it, and now it's ready to go!  The border punch looks very effective as well.  Lauren has also made a template of the outside shape, and used this for the inside of the card.

Lauren has once again made good use of the beautiful butterfly punch and continued the theme inside the card.

Gorgeous little chicks Roseanne, your card has a very simplistic look that ties all the elements in together nicely.

I would also like to share a couple more projects from the Feb/March Sketch that were not displayed earlier due to some MIA non-activity on the Blog. (..wagging again....)
Here we have a Birthday Card where Lauren has used stitching, punching (I really love that Monarch Butterfly punch) and layering of the flowers.

March Blind CropVille Revealed

The March Blind CropVille had the girls stitching, painting, stamping, violently scrunching and having a little play with some bleach.  With Sally taking on the classes for the day the girls got every chance to tweak and examine their techniques used.  Time proved a little short on this one, so their will be some finishing off at home with .................... yes, a bit more stitching!  I can see the need for more whip cracking next time!  

As you will see from the Master Layout the title had been traced and bleached out, and was then stitched around the outline.  This is something that  the girls were given an option on, due to time limits.  Most will be re-done when they get them all home.  The pregnant lady will also bring her layout into the store when she remembers where she put that photo.............. I have no doubt what-so-ever that it will be a stunning layout once it's all together!

Also, due to Show Stoppers dominating a very proud position in Scrapville's Front Window, the Blind Crop Layouts are now located on the Wall of Fame inside the store for this week.  Once they are returned to the Front Window they will remain there until the next Blind CropVille on April 16th.

Both our young attendees (Sophie & Regan) opted not to stamp around the edges with the bleach, giving their layouts a fresh, sharp look.  I hope they get to add that stitching at home to finish off.  Well done girls.

I really liked Lynne's stitched flourishes (Muster), and Nicole and Lynne S have done a pretty good job with the bleached flower stamping around the edges.  Whether the girls choose to finish off their titles as is or add to them, I like how Di's turned out with the stitched outline. It ties the stitching in and defines the title a bit better.  The Quilling was something new as well, and the girls used a few different styles to get their flourishes, circles or hearts right for their pages.  Well done everyone, and thanks again to Sally for covering the BCV's for me.

SHOW STOPPERS

Hello Everyone, well they did indeed Show Me, Show You and Show Them!  I would like to thank all the lovely people who entered layouts and off the page projects into the Scrapbooking Section at this years Wodonga Show, it was very popular viewing.  How wonderful it is to support Scrapbooking and the Local Communtiy at the same time.

The Extra Exciting news is that we have some Announcements from the outcome. Just Jillibean

Well, here we have just a few more Monthly Pack projects to share from our March Pack by Jillibean Soup.  Such wonderful colours, and the girls really have done some wonderful work.  I think the colour combinations have worked so well.  I hope you were lucky enough to get a pack, as they have all sold out.

Play Together by Nikki Antonello (CT)

 

Below you can see detail of the alpha beans (stickers).  How nicely do they stand out with a little stitching doodle around the edges.

The branches look so effective with the brown webbing overlaying the cardstock.

I just love these rolled flowers, and the full shaped leaves give body with the slight mounting in the centres.

Clouds are such a big thing at the moment as well, and these little beauties are no exception!  Nicely shaped Mulberry Paper and coordinating patterned paper, edged nicely with some doodling, and a nice central focus with the decorative pin. Thanks Nikki.

Here is one to catch your eye.  Most of the embellishments were made by hand using bits and pieces from the pack (as you should...), and I'm just loving how Judy has put her Mermaid together.  She has made good use of the Mulberry Paper and webbing, with a bit of paper shaping and a nice effect with the MS Fan punch replicating a shell.  Judy has chosen to combine the Vanilla and Kraft cardstock with the blues and oranges from within the pack for a beach theme.

Regional Cross-Country Carnival by Kat Farrer.

A nice alternative here with Kat focusing on the greens and organges in her layout.  What also works really well is the combination of multi photos, offset with staggered edges to soften the lines and give the effect of depth in the layering.

OTP - My Scrap Space wall hanging by Kat Farrer.

You need to get up close and personal with this one - it just looks gorgeous!  Layered onto the chipboard with those lovely alphas and colours, this really is lovely.  This will most certainly be proudly displayed in Kat's Scrap Space (.....when I give it back!)

The Next March Pack Reveal. . . .

Hi everyone, and welcome to another Monthly Pack reveal.  All things considered the Blog Lady has been wagging a bit lately, and has more to share with you shortly.

This time around we have a gorgeous note board for all those "need to remember" things.  Using the chipboard and clip as the main focus of the project, and backed with a diecut shape to compliment, Nikki has beautifully pieced together and coordinated the patterned papers to bring together a fresh and enticing look at embellishing.  The bunting and twine work so well together, and who doesn't love those flowers and leaves! An added touch to the punched patterned paper is the slight directional fold going across the bottom.  Scroll on down for some more detailed images of this beautiful project, and those gorgeous papers!
