More October Creations

Hi Everyone, today we're sharing some creations for the October/November Sketch Challenge, and the Cashmere Dame Monthly Pack.  I hope you've been inspired to play along, although the Monthly Pack is about to expire so I hope you made it in.  You still have until Pumpkin Time on November 14th to get your Sketch Challenges in, so why not have a go?

WHY? Card

Spring by Heather Bensley
October/Nov Sketch
Leigh by Jennie Seal

Devotion & Delight by Debi Clark

Some very interesting creations here, fussy cutting, layering, masking, embossing and lots more.  Great job on the cards Sally, they make a wonderful set.
A beautiful layout as always Heather, lots of white space and clean lines.  The misting and texture stamps have added a nice touch blending in well with the colour theme.
Lots of work put into your embossing and techniques Jennie, I just love how this has come together.
Debi, nice natural colours in your page with Pah, not too unbalanced given the pretty little pink Pippa attraction!  Well done girls!

Monthly Glitz

Here is a little more inspiration for you from our Creative Team Member, Claire and a few of the girls.  I am sure you are all wondering how these layouts all come out of the same pack, but the possibilities are truly endless.  There really is so much you can do with this one.
Beautiful by Claire Apostoloff (CT)
I wanted to keep it simple as the background paper is so pretty, I didn't think that much.  I've matted the photos on to the yellow paper and used one of the stickers as my title.
The flower has been coloured by painting yellow and red Glimmer mist on to the petals and I've also added some bling. The last thing I did was to highlight the edges of some of the hexagons with Kindy Glitz.
I fussy cut one of the stickers and chopped off some of the words to fit my layout. I wanted the lady's leg to 'hang' down one of the photos!

I thinks it's come together very well Claire. Outlining the hexagons has made them stand out a little more, and great job with the BlondeTitle!
Turning Fifty by Judy Laracy
Turning Fifty, and Life's a bowl of Cherries!  Judy has brought out all the reds in this pack with her fussy cut cherries, handmade tissue flowers and rosette.  The bunting title is very effective, and the lower bunting images in the patterned paper have been given a bit more depth with Dimensional Magic, although it's a little difficult to see.
The hand cut cherries have certainly required a bit of patience, great layout Judy.
I Choose Gumballs by Zan Boyle
The whole story here behind the title is actually Behind the Title!!  Zan has told her story in a hidden journaling pocket behind the title, which makes total sense if you get a chance to read it!
There is a great sequence of photos here, demonstrating the shading from black and white to colour.  Very clever, and very effective given the vibrant colours in this pack.  The handmade rolled flowers and bling circles give the page a touch of hands on playing.  Well done.
Hello Gorgeous Card by Zan Boyle
Doesn't this remind you of the ol' Electric IBM Golfball we all longed for?  I just loved mine, and that's the first thing I think of when I see this die cut.  Nicely put together Zan.

Thanks for sharing your great creations girls.  We are looking forward to seeing what else is created before the Monthly Glitz Pack challenges finish come Pumpkin TIme at the end of October.

Something Sketchy

Yes indeed, we have something very Sketchy to share with you all.  Our August/September Sketch Challenges will expire Pumpkin Time August 14th, and we still have plenty to see.  Get yours in before you know when............!
So Cold by Gillian Hume
Gillian's Sketch Challenge photos could have been taken on my back verandah, not in Toowoomba!  We've been having a bit of brisk spring weather here lately, so it's not quite that usual to see photos with everyone so rugged up like this in sunny Queensland!  Great scrapping though Gillian.  Lovely soft colours, and a great combination with the bling circle and the doily.  Lots of layering on the the flowers, topped with bling.  Well done Gillian, great colours to go with your photos.
Cheeky by Nicole McNamara
What a great use of the Swiss Dots Bazzil Nicole?  The colours are fantastic, and I love the painted background and your little Cheeky Monkeys.  Well done Nicole, lovely layout.
Mason turns One by Deb Pulford (CT)
Deb has used an Ezy Pzy Kit to do her Sketch Layout. Plenty of party food with with a very fruity background paper! The journaling has been done with Adorn It tiny alphas, and the title with BasiGrey chip alphas, inked with Staz On. Deb has also added some chipboard numbers, a chippie hexagon and a border punch. A very bright party layout Deb, thanks for playing.
Scrapville August Monthly Pack
Happy by Deb Pulford (CT)
This layout has been done by Deb using the Splash range by Little Yellow Bicycle.  A little apology goes Deb's way too, as I safely put her layouts in the posted folder much sooner than I needed to!  With the background paper already covered in white flowers, Deb's bright red trim and matching starfish paper offset the colours nicely.  A light touch of webbing, a scallop diecut and some clear shapes give the page a very clean and simple look.  Well done Deb - we finally got there!

We are approaching Pumpkin Time everyone, so make sure you get your Sketches in on time!

August Creations

Here are a few more creations using both the "Splash" August Monthly Pack, and the August/September Sketch Challenge.  What a great variation of styles and designs we're seeing.  I hope everyone is having fun creating with these ones.
Winners are Grinners by Deb Pulford (CT)
Deb has gone for a solid background for her colourful Grinners layout.  Lots of shapes and layering add a good blend of colour and depth to this layout.  The edges are lightly distressed to add a bit of rawness, and the red alphas add a good balance with their brightness, and a great way to journal.  Well done Deb.
Cheeky Girls by Jennie Seal (Guest CT)

Jennie has used lots of paper piecing and over stitching along the end border and around the layout frame of this Ezy Pzy Kit.  True to her calling, we have fussy cutting, Dimensional Magic, bling and flowers all on one page!  Some decorative tearing around the edges, mounting up of the cute little critters, birds and flowers, a bit of background spattering and all you'll need to add is some Cheeky Girls and you have a Sketch!  Well done Jennie.
Fish'N'Fun by Zan Boyle
Using more of her Monthly Pack, Zan has cut out a frame from the fish patterned paper to make a frame.  The blue webbing makes a nice interpretation for either a net or waves, depending how you look at it.  The clear cut out shapes blend in well. Lots of little cut out fish add depth as well.  Great to see you getting so much out of your Packs Zan.

Well done girls.
