More Creative Show & Tell

Hi Everyone, I have a few more creations to share with you all, although I must admit that this post should have been posted prior to the last day of the month!  My apologies for the delay in getting the Pre-Pumpkin Monthly Pack Challenges up, but alas they did make it!  So without further ado, let's check out what the girls have been up to.

Sketch Challenges

Swim by Pam Casey

Pam has put together a nice bright layout, using flowers, vines and leaves in the cluster and on the borders. The mix is lovely. The doily's soften the page andbalance all the whites. Very nice Pam, well done.

bff by Beth Metcalf

Beth has used pink and blue to dominate her layout over a muted background paper.  The quilled flowers add a nice texture, and the colour mix makes them more interesting.  The layered papers have been embossed, and the felt flourish border breaks up the colours.  Beth has also used a simplified border cluster by creating a fanned flower, and adding a bit of bling.  The bunting has also been represented by the quilled flowers and gingham ribbon.  Well done Beth.

I also have a Show & Tell from Kylie gW, who wasn't able to get this one in for the recent ScrapBursts, but I loved it and asked to share it with you all.  This one was for the Metals, and Kylie has also used lovely metallic flowers and a gold metallic pen (most creative!) to doodle her doily for a very interesting effect.

Kylie likes to work with a smaller page, and I always find her layouts interesting and creative.

This is giving you a better view of the doodling Kylie has done to form her doily.

This is where the three central frames meet, and Kylie has linked them all with the gold pattern. The chip shape has also come up nicely with a bit of metallic colouring. Well done Kylie, and thanks for sharing.

Mavis by Beth Metcalf

Today we are sharing a beautiful layout of Mavis, Beth's lovely Mum.  Now Beth started out creating her layout for the sketch, but sort of lost sight of it and wandered off track a little, so she did another one, and I persuaded her to let me display this one!  The fussy cut papers are all flocked in greys and blacks, just perfect for the photo.  The cutouts have been layered and mounted, and the photo itself has been mounted on cardstock with some decorative cardstock strips.  The tassles also add a nice touch.

In amongst the cutouts we have some lovely Prima Bling on stems. These add such an elegance to the layout. Thanks Beth, your layout is just beautiful.

Add Water and Enjoy by Heather Bensley

Here we have a layout from our former CT Member Heather, who has featured her almost one year old grandson, Noah.  Taking a break from the Team after a very hectic few months, it's always nice to see what Heather comes up with for our Challenges.  I'm loving the kite Heather has used for the banner, and how she has utilized the zigzag pattern in the papers.

Heather has made her clusters from the Sketch a bit more "kiddie friendly" by mounting up her cutouts of the cute little critters, and working her colours into the teals and blues for a boys page.  The water drops add to the theme of the photo, and a hint of Glimmer Mist breaks up the white space ever so lightly.

The colours in the chip title look great, and a slight sanding on the edges softens them down a bit.  The border clusters are most creative, again using the zigzag patterned paper.  Thanks for playing Heather, beautiful page.

As we've been doing a bit of Show & Tell, we also have one from Heather to share.  Whilst having a "5 minute Heather cuppa" this week, for about an hour or so......., we decided that we would still like to share this one from the last Sketch Challenge.  Although it's past it's entry date I always think it's good to have a Show & Tell so that you can still get to see what everyone does with the challenges or packs, and so that we can still display the girls' layouts.

Just lovely Heather, the pearls, buttons and birds look great, the minimalist paper across the centre work in great with the solid and cutout circles.  Thanks for letting me share your work.

February Monthly Pack

Hi Everyone, and welcome to February's Monthly Pack.  This month's pack is Kissing Booth from BasicGrey.  A bit of a mix this month, we have pinks and reds, birds,  wispy flowers and bold flowers as well.  I'm betting we're going to get a few different takes on this one!

Kissing Booth Monthly Pack by BasicGrey

In the main pack we have ribbed cardstock in Black and White, 5 x DSPPs, a 12x12 Alpha sticker sheet, a patch of lovely lace, 3 cute buttons, some matching bling, red/pink velvet ribbon and cream twill.  Lots of goodness there!

Kissing Booth Booster Pack by BasicGrey

In the Booster we have an 12x12 element sticker sheet with all sorts of bits and pieces to compliment your pack, 2 x DSPPs, a bit of pink gimp and a chocolate brown piece of pom pom bobble and a 6x12 black glitter cardstock, just for a bit more bling!  It all ties in nicely, and as usual there is plenty to play with!

Our first layout this month is from Claire, who features her very shy hubby..........  

Not Quite a SuperModel by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

 Love the B&W photo sequence in this one, and the slight curling of the hearts.

This is a great way to use a frame to highlighting your favorite photo in a sequence or theme.

Claire has also used a lit bit of white Glimmer Mist on the background, and traced the letters onto the black glitter cardstock then cut around them leaving a fine edge, then inking the edges white.  Well done Claire.

Remember by Deb Pulford (CT)

"We don't Remember days, we remember moments" is the full title of Deb's layout featuring Kloe.  She has kept it simple to keep the focus on the photo, which has been layered up, using the lace behind for a bit more softness.  Some fussy cutting and rolling is just enough to balance out.  Well done Deb. 

Fun by Anita Bownds (CT)

"We Love to Have Fun" is the full title of Anita's layout, and it certainly looks it!  Lots of white space with a lot of fun & brightness drawing your eye into the photos.  Pink paint was used to put splats into the background, adding a hint of colour.  A bit of fussy cutting and the doily border was formed, along with the cutout of the gorgeous pink flower.

Anita made a little bow with the ribbon, doodled around the patterned strips, hearts and flower.  A heart sticker, lace and brown trim were used to make the heart flower, along with the leaves.

Anita has used her Swiss Dots folder to Emboss the letters "XOXO" that were cut from the patterned paper, then used a Copic Multiliner to outline each one.  The Fiskars Apron Lace border punch was used to put a decorative edge on the pink paper, breaking up the colours.  Beautiful work Anita.

Love Birds by Sally Clark (CT)

I'm sensing a little nervousness amongst the Blind CropVille ladies as they look at this tree, but never fear ladies - if it's here it won't be there!! ....then again.....  Sally never ceases to amaze me with her layouts, turning the simplest of designs into something stunning. Using the back of one of the patterned papers she has diligently drawn and fussy cut the leaf clusters, using a Copic Multiliner inside the edge of each one.

Gorgeous little tufts of grass have been created in the same way, with a Fiskars Border Punch & a touch of brown ink to decorate the edges.  Foam mounting tape on the grasses, trunk and leaves add real dimension.  The brown pom pom trim bordering two sides of the photo also add dimension, drawing the eye in.

Fussy cutting the little birds on the tree top, adding Dimensional Magic to give them and the pink hearts a bit more shine, then an odd dot of red bling is just about all you need to do.  The tree top has really come up beautifully Sally.

Deb has used the left overs from the Jan Pack and added a button and paper tag, as well as some stamping in Jet Black StazOn. The sentiments were stamped with alphabet stamps, and a black star border along the side with a bit of bling for added zing!  Great tones for a male card.  Thanks girls for your challenges.

January Blind Cropville

The theme for this month's Blind CropVille was "Summertime", and as you can see we have a multitude of summery layouts.  Thanks to all the girls who attended, and to the girls who decided to take their creations home, thanks for coming along.  Now lets take a look at the Master Layout, and what the 2 classes created.

Fussy cutting, mounting up, layering, scoring, folding, a bit of journaling and there you have it!

  A close up of the pinwheel flowers.

This shows the lovely bunting, which is mounted up, as are the word tags and border strip.  A touch of ink better defines the lines at the edges.

Dec/Jan Sketch Winners

Sharing More Sketches

Hi Everyone, today we have some more Sketches to share with you all.  I hope you enjoy the creations completed by the Creative Team girls as much as I do.

For You Card by Sally Clark (CT)

Sally has used a bit of Sassafrass Lass to make her Card.  Her gorgeous image has been stamped and coloured by hand.  An eyelet lace border punch edges the top and bottom of the image nicely, and the flower and button hold the sentiment.

Sally has co-ordinated the inside of the card with the border strip from her PP, and inked the edges.  Thanks Sally.

High School Dayz by 'Zan Boyle

'Zan has used the Glimmer Mist Chalk ink to mist her background, using masks to the front.  The border punched strips are layered, and the B&W photo distressed on the edges and mounted.  The lovely half MS doileys, also misted with the chalk, look great.  The brads and 3D stickers work well with the OA rubons to embellish up the school theme.

The text paper on the bunting is joined with bling and string to adorn the corner.

Year Nine Graduation by Roseanne Cook

This one just missed out on beating the Pumpkin, but I wanted to share it with you anyway.  The colours work well, and I loved the Glimmer Mist on the Glitter Cardstock and masking the circles in the centre.  The photo of Sophie is further highlighted by the nested flowers either side.  Thanks Roseanne.

More Krafty Layouts

Hi Everyone, I have more Krafty Layouts from the January Fun Day Pack to share with you all.  Just loving what everyone is doing with Fun Day, and very excited to see all these wonderful layouts coming in.

Hey Buddy by Anita Bownds (CT)

Anita has used a Fiskars Apron Lace border punch to shape the white cardstock, and doodled on the edges using a  Copic Multiliner.  The daisy flower was punched out of the Kraft PP's using a Fiskars Heidi Grace Medium  Palm Punch, with an added bling to the centre.  And isn't Buddy's colouring just gorgeous?  He looks very comfortable perched up there!

Anita has also made the leaves from Kraft PP, and used a template to trace and cut the large daisy from another Kraft PP.  The spattering of Paint in white and blue breaks up the black background.  The cluster looks very effective, and the use of colour against the Kraft works well.  Great page Anita.

1941 by Beth Metcalf

Beth has used a photo of her mother as a toddler as a focus for her layout, and such a beautiful photo too.  This pack really lends itself to a variety of themes, suiting this layout perfectly, yet also worked against Anita's bright contrasts above they give off a different effect.  I think Beth's use of a heritage theme has worked well, with the burnt tag and text paper, crumpled and folded, just enough.  A bit of bling in the black lace trim and the bright red paper rose are also a nice touch.

Well done girls, so excited to see what else comes in!

More January Pack Creations

The January My Minds Eye pack has been fantastic, the girls are getting so much out of it.  I hope you all are being inspired to get into some serious creating with this one.  I have some more to share with you today, so be sure to leave the girls a comment - they LOVE comments...

Congratulations by Anita Bownds (CT)

Anita has made this beautiful card using a Fiskars Lace border punch, BasicGrey stamp and Papercraft sentiment stamp.  Complimented with the pack by stamping onto the MME Kraft give it a natural feel, and the bow sitting on the border strip softens it even more.  I think this card looks stunning.  Well done Anita.

My Boy by Deb Pulford (CT)

Deb has turned a simple design into a stunning layout.  How easy is it to usilize all those extra little bits and pieces from your pack to create a layout like this?  Adding a bit of dimension by mounting up the pinwheels once backed onto black cardstock has tied them into the theme of the circles, which are also backed with black cardstock.  The multi photo strip sitting on the strip of black punched cardstock looks really nice, and a nice touch to a boys layout. A little doodling in white onto the cardstock title is also another way to get a bit more mileage out of your diecut letters.  Well done Deb.
