Creative Layouts

Just when you thought there wasn't anything left in the pack, out they come!  How good is the mix in these layouts?  It really is amazing to see just how much you can get from a pack, and this one certainly is no exception.  Scroll on down and check them all out.
We Love You by Anita Bownds (CT)
Anita's scalloped border punch ties in the theme of the pp block, not to mention the little feathered friend..  Adding a bit below the photo and along the side of the pp has given it balance.  The little cutout and sticker birds further compliment the theme.
Looking closely you will see embossing on the black cardstock and doodling along the edge of the pink frame.
In this one we can see the added detail of the flower layers from the button down to the half pleated flower - or a fan.  The velvet bow blends in nicely with the flower, with a bit more embossing and some delicate cutouts.  Well done Anita, very nice indeed.
Rachel & Scott by Angie Wenke
Angie has used lots of white space against the black background and pink photo block.  The delicate little hearts and decorative edges are a softening touch, with thin strips of pp adding clean sharp lines.  I'm sure there's more to the story if you're cashed up, but I'm not asking!!  Well done Angie.
Ellen Mary Circa 1912 by Di Corbitt
Di has used her layout with strong pinks as a contrast to the B&W photo. The deep pink embossing and handmade flowers tie in together nicely, with the white trim and lace flower drawing the eye into the softness of the photo. Given the era of this photo I'd say Di has done well to to work these colours in with such a nice effect.
Be Mine by Beth Metcalf
Beth has also chosen to work with the deeper pink as the background for her photo.  Bordering the doily cutouts on the black glitter separates the two strip designs nicely, which also works in well with the smaller hearts and flag strips, which are all mounted on black.  A bit of Dimensional Magic adds shine, and the red velvet ribbon below the photo makes a nice statement.  Very nice Beth.

What a great mix of styles using this pack. If your curiosity has been tweaked, you have until Pumpkin Time tomorrow to get one in!!  Go on....................

Thanks everyone, loving what I'm seeing.

More Feb/March Sketches

Here we have some Sketch Challenges to share.  Almost at the half way mark for the Sketch Challenges, you still have plenty of time to have a go at Anita's great designs.  Plenty of time everyone, the pumpkin is still ticking, love to see what you come up with.....
Gold by Deb Pulford (CT)
It's great to see how you can put a different spin on a Sketch by changing the colours, and the embellishments. Deb has used masculine colours and embellishments to change the look of a flowery sketch to one more suitable for her athletic boys page. The chip and metal cogs work well, and the black inked edges define each piece. Well done Deb.
Bella is 4 by 'Zan Boyle
'Zan has used an embossing folder to add an interesting texture to her vellum strips. A great effect, surrounded by handmade flowers and diecut shapes made with the Cricut. The soft pinks tie in by drawing your eye to the photos. Well done 'Zan.
Who I Am by Beth Metcalf
Beth has tackled the Sketch with quite an eclectic layout using transparency, cutouts, and all the extra bits and pieces that explain "who" her daughter is, and what she's about. A great mix of colours from the velvet ribbons, lace butterflies, paper flowers to the photos themselves. Mounted up with a fine border, the black and red stand out nicely. Well done Beth.
Happy Birthday Card by 'Zan Boyle
This card is a typical outdoor boy card, with lots of cutout bugs and blokey colours.  The addition of the brightness of Copic colouring has this little fellow jumping out at you.  A card any little fellow (a big fishy bloke!) would love.  Well done 'Zan.

Thanks for sharing everyone, and I'm sure we'll see some more interesting creations before these Sketches finish up.

Sharing Feb Monthly Pack Creations

Hi Everyone, with the February Monthly Pack nearing it's end we have a few more Creative Team samples to share with you all.  The girls have certainly got their value out of this pack, managing to complete several projects in all, and still a bit left over!  I hope that you've been able to get as much out of yours - if you were lucky enough to get a pack.
I Love You Girls - Tag Book by Anita Bownds (CT)

Absolutely beautiful Anita.  Lots of gorgeous handmade flowers, leaves, punchies, doodling, stamping and fussy cutting and Dimensional Magic too.  The mix of small B&W photos work in well, and form a fun and adorable memory.  What a great keepsake of the girls.
Daz by Deb Pulford (CT)
This layout by Deb utilizes a solid block of patterned paper behind the photo.  It is further accented with a ring of pink patterned paper and a doily cutout.  Ribbon, a border punched strip, some misting and the cutest birds complete the embellishing around the ring.  The colour tone of the photo works well with the layout too, well done Deb.

There will be more to share shortly, but once again I hope you have enjoyed using your pack and creating something wonderful.

Feb/Mar Sketches

Hi Everyone, just thought I'd share another Sketch with you.  Hope you've had time to play with this gorgeous Sketch by Anita to get your card or layout done.
Mr & Mrs by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

Claire has mainly used papers from the February Monthly Pack, but has also used MME for the background. The chipboard swirls and journalling spot are BasicGrey and the button is Jenni Bowlin.  A die was used to cut the photos.

CIaire replaced the round doily and the centre flower with hearts and used a corner rounder on the paper strips to soften the edges. They were also inked up a little. The heart and flowers are chipboard - Claire has stamped some of the patterned paper, covered the raw chipboard and inked the edges, then added a bit of bling to the flower centres.
The letters are Basic Grey and I've smudged some pink ink to around the edges so they show up on the background paper.

Thanks for your detail on the layout Claire, I love how it has come together, and how all the CT has come up with such diverse designs.  Just lovely.

Feb/March Sketch Challenges

Welcome to another round of Sketch Challenges.  This time around we have another set of challenges for your Cards and Layouts that should inspire and motive your creativity.  Once again Anita has outdone herself with some wonderful Sketch Designs, and we hope you enjoy the challenge!
February/March Layout Sketch Challenge
First up we have some samples from the Creative Team girls, who would just like to share with you a little bit of their inspiration.
My True Love by Anita Bownds (CT)

Anita has used her Monthly Pack to produce this lovely layout of her dear hubby. I like how the brown houndstooth mixes so well with the pinks and creams, giving it a more masculine feel even though it has "pink & flowers!"  I really love how this layout has come together, and I also noted that hubby only gave you TWO shots to get the photos.......

The handmade paper flowers and green leaves look great, and the green adds a nice contrast. The top and bottom of the paper ribbon looks great, especially with the uneven punching at the top.
An added touch of doodling around the border and outling the shapes adds definition, and the tangle flourishes also look very effective.
Lil' Monsters by Sally Clark (CT)
Sally also added some DM to the monster on the scallop tag, and is in LOVE with that new red scallop ribbon!!
Sally said "I put the cardstock on the floor and squeezed some drops of black ink from shoulder height so they would splatter a bit.  I got a bit excited I think as the ink soaked through the paper and onto the floorboards in my studio.  Just makes it look like a real 'artist' lives in there!"
The blobs looked a bit flat, so Sally gave them a good thick workout with Dimensional Magic.
February/March Card Sketch Challenge
And again, some inspiration from the Creative Team girls.
Card by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

Claire has coloured the stamped image with Copic Markers. Added was one of Claire's punched flowers, touched up with Dimensional Magic and a pearl bling, and some Basic Grey chipboard.

Claire has also done some faux stitching around the edge of the patterned paper, adding a spot of bling in the corners.  the layered mounting of the papers and stamped image look great.  A lovely card Claire, well done.  And well done also to Anita and Sally for their wonderful Layout Sketches.  We hope you are inspired to tackle these Sketches before close off on March 14th - Pumpkin Time!

February Blind CropVille

Hi Everyone, at this months BCV the girls were doing stamping, doodling, inking cutting and mounting. A bit of Dimensional Magic was added for a bit of shine, and a bit of bling. The girls layouts weren't far from the Master, all still with a bit of difference in the flowers. Add a couple of special photos and you have a beautiful layout. Also, I will be adding a coup0le of layouts later when I am emailed the images. Now lets see what everyone got up to.
The Master Layout - Love by Sally Clark (CT)

Our Wedding by Beth Metcalf
50 Years by Dawn Collins
Bec Loves to Sleep by Zan Boyle
Mother Love by Max Rusk
Puppy Love by Di Corbitt

Lilli by Jennie Seal

I thought we would also have a closer look at everyone's flower heads, just to see the difference.  I haven't named them all, but I'm sure you can have another look to see who owns what.

Now, we are also sharing layouts from our Creative Team girls, who took part in the CT Cyber BCV. Although the girls were using their own Scrapville products, and not the class kit, we can see a real difference in the layouts. Very impressive girls, and thanks for playing. Thanks also to Sally for coordinating that one.
Love You Boys by Claire Apostoloff (CT)
Hibiscus Flowers by Anita Bownds (CT)
Thanks for playing along girls, I like your interpretations.  Looking forward to next month!
