Hi to all those Winners out there, and the ones that Scrapville chose!  This post is a little later than I'd like, but we do have a list of recent Challenge Winners that I would like to announce.  Each Winner has been chosen based on the Challenge criteria and techniques applied.

Although we receive many entries for the Challenges we can only choose one, and although they all have an individuality in how they were created, we feel they all need praise for the efforts each and every one of you has put in.  We are constantly amazed at the quality of the challenges you submit, and delighted to have your work displayed in the shop and on the Blog.

Sally's Close Shave...

Hello everyone, well it's time for a bit of an update without the scrapping.  For some time now we have been telling you all about one of our Creative Team members and her desire to help the leukemia foundation's fundraising efforts by participating in the Worlds Greatest Shave.

 Originally we were going to do this at RetreatVille, but like most well laid plans it wasn't to be. A little more jigging and planning and guess what? - she had it in the hat!

Sally has put her hair on the chopping block to help raise funds for this very worthy cause.  With raffles and street stalls, plant sales, auctions and on-line donations Sally has been able to exceed her expected thresh-hold by raising an amazing total of just under $6000.00.   Not only has she been able to contribute such a generous figure, but she is also donating her hair to a wigmaker who will make sure it goes towards providing a much needed boost for some special little people.

What a mammoth effort, and how fortunate were my family and I to be there to watch these lovely long locks get the chop.  I would like to share a few photos from the day, and congratulate Sally for her selfless, and very generous efforts.  Apologize I must, however, as I looked high and I looked low but do you think I could find a knitted tea cozy for the occasion??  Our little woolen beanie would have to do....

 2. But first, lets get the hair up, with the help of sister Bethy.  Note the sheer panic on Sally's face as Beth says: "Hey look Sal, isn't that Chopper Reid?"...

3. Ohhhhhhhh, how nice and long has Sally's hair grown!

4. Congratulations went to the nice Blind Man with the scissors as he is assisted to remove the plait.................... ok, he's not Blind, but he is very nice!

5. "The hair or the money......."

6. It seems Sally doesn't want to let either go, but quite frankly I'd be more worried about the Kenworth bloke Driving the Clippers!

7. "How's he going?" she's asked.... Can you see the hand - so so I think it says.

8. You'd be laughing too if you thought there weren't any blades in the clippers....

 9. Whilst Sally enjoyed the moment, the very moved crowd continued to fill the tea cozy replacement with financial abundance -  until the hair was all gone!

10. Through gritted teeth Sally advised her new friend that she would not require the $5 magic potion that would make her hair grow in a colourful and mysterious way.

12. A well deserved smooch for an amazing effort.

Congratulations Sally, you have made us all proud with your wonderful efforts to spread some love in the world of those needing it so much.  XXXX

June/July Sketch Winners

ScrapBurst!!

Hello Everyone and welcome to June, the month of Financial Nightmares , Stocktakes, and fishing out our woollies for the first day winter!  This month we have a few new bits and pieces to share with you all, the first of which is our first ScrapBurst.  Always looking for something new and inspirational, Scrapville thought it was time to throw a ScrapBurst in - but wait, there's more!  This month we will not be having our regular Monthly Pack, we are going to do a ScrapBurst Month.  Huh? I hear you say........

There will be 4 ScrapBursts throughout the month, each one announced 7 days apart.  You have until the 30th of June to have ALL your ScrapBurst challenges completed and brought into Scrapville (or emailed).  There will be one prize put up for each Scrapburst, and the winners will be announced on the 5th of July.

ScrapBurst #1

Using the image below as inspiration, please create a layout.  You may focus on whatever  inspiration you draw from the image, whether it be the colour, the theme, shapes, words, patterns or the feeling it gives you. It must be a 12x12 in size, and submitted by Pumpkin Time on 30th June.  Please include your Name, contact details and ScrapBurst Challenge #.

Inspiration - Mellow Yellow

 This is a close up of the pattern for those wanting to explore that avenue...

'Everyday Inspiration'

Look around you and find inspiration in the most mundane things. I found my inspiration in the form of a conditioner bottle. I don't usually work with yellow so the colour scheme was a challenge in itself, but I LOVED the swirls and flourishes.

 

For added depth I stamped some images in darker yellow ink, cut some flourishes etc using my Cricut Expression, and adhered them over the stamped background images.  I attached my photo, added a journaling block (also cut using the Cricut Expression), a monogram and there you have it...inspiration from an everyday item.   Sally

i-Rock Winner

Hi Everyone, well it's a little later than I anticipated but we have come up with a winner of the January Monthly Pack challenge to win the i-Rock Prize Pack!  Your Layout had to be completed using only the Monthly Pack and/or Booster Pack products - the only exception for this month was that you were able to use your choice of Alphas for your Title.  Techniques such as stamping, inking, distressing, painting, embossing or your Imaginisce i-Top were also allowed.

The Winner of the Imaginisce i-Rock Pack for her layout "Christmas Night" is Fiona Tuckwell.  Congratulations Fiona, I loved the sense of white space, the bunting and your use of colours. You can contact Janet to collect your wonderful prize.

February Monthly Pack

This is such a beautiful layout on so many different levels, the photograph really hasn't done it full justice.  The colours tie in nicely together, and the level of layering gives it plenty to draw the eye in.  Below we have a close up of the detail in the layering of the Birdcage, the branches and the pink flowers.  The crystal flower bling has added a very nice touch to the branch ends.

 There is such intricate detail in Nikki's work, that a flower is often so much more than just a flower!  This whole layout points at that gorgeous little girl, centered amongst a cross section of decorative patterned paper strips, punched fence posts and dancing butterflies.   The flowers are softened with the Tulle, whilst the birdcage so intricately cut out, sits nicely for a bit of dimension on the corner of the photo.  The Glimmer Misting dances across the page with a spray of bling, whilst Nikki has masked the white hearts then stitched around each one by hand.  Scroll down below for more detail of Nikki's techniques.

Thank you girls for such inspirational beautiful work.  I will be sharing more work from the Creative Team later this week, so keep posted!
