March Blind CropVille

Hi Everyone, this month's BCV had everyone in a bit of birthday mood.  The degree to which everyone distressed and inked is clearly a variable, as is the fussy cutting on the girl's layout.  The punched out photo pieces took a bit of courage, but they all look great.  Thanks to everyone for taking part, and to Sally for designing the layout.

Jem is Two by Roz Langridge
One by Jennie Seal
Just a little sneak peek of the fussy cutting on Jennie's layout.  The girls party, their outfits and the cake and faeries were clearly made for this layout!

And here we have a little sneak peek of Judith's cutouts, bling and crimping.
Aged to Perfection by Gwllynes Axe

With this BCV the girls were given the option of doing a Boy layout or a Girl layout.  This gave everyone a more specific setting for their photos in this instance, and another change to the BCV's.

March/April Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone, welcome to the March/April Sketch Challenges.  This time around we are focusing the Sketches on a more male dominant design, which of course can be turned around for a girly page, or something totally different.  Why not see what you can come up with for this one, as Anita has been busy creating wonderful Sketches for you to try and would love to see your take on them.
March / April Layout Sketch
And here is a sample of what Anita has done with the Sketch.
Cherish by Anita Bownds (CT)
Gorgeous, gorgeous photo Anita, first and foremost.  This is a great start to these challenges as Anita has completely changed the look of the Sketch from what is initially perceived as "male" to the most gorgeous girly layout.  Anita has also incorporated texture on her page, using acrylic paint and a template and it looks fantastic.  Love the heart trim and the borders and layering above and below the photos.  Great work Anita, just beautiful.
March / April Card Sketch
We will have more samples to share with the new Card Sketch shortly.

Stay tuned also for the "Last Post" for the Feb / March Sketches, which will now go up tomorrow.....  Winners will be announced on Sunday evening.

March Challenges

Well here we are, ready to share the first of our Monthly Pack layouts, and some Sketch challenges as well.
Bella's Birthday Bash by 'Zan Boyle
It's great to see a multi photo layout, I think it's something a lot of us struggle to do. Zan's layout has great balance, the scallop border edged with the lace trim looks great and the the party just seems to be perfect for these papers.
A lovely combination of colours, that gorgeous trim, Zan's handmade punched flowers and a bit of bling on the Thickers!
Scrapville's lovely new flowers certainly look the part on Bella's Birthday layout!  Well done Zan, just beautiful.
Libby by Dawn Collins
Well Dawn has been very quick off the mark with this one.  The trim around the top bracket looks great, the mounted up floral cutout above the title fits in perfectly, and I love how Dawn has inked her white cardstock to blend in with the gorgeous papers, focusing entirely on that wonderful birthday photo.
I love the scattered bling and Dawn's addition of some soft inking on the flower.  Really lovely Dawn.
Monthly Sketch Challenge
Little Red Coats by Kylie gW
I'm glad to see Kylie has found her Mojo with this fabulous take on the Sketch.  Lots of work in this, and I became very dizzy trying to read that journaling!  The scattering of red just ties in so nicely with your page, and I love your mix of embellishments.  Well done Kylie.

Only a week to go until Pumpkin Time, so be sure to get yours in!  Thanks for playing everyone.

Just a Little Note...

Hi everyone, thought I would do a little post to cover some updates.

The March Pack is now out, and you can find it available in-store or for order here, whilst stock lasts.

If you thought the Pack was awesome, wait until you see the NEW range of flowers that are now available.  I can't wait to see these on layouts and OTP projects.

Have you checked out the March Newsletter?  It's also linked on the right panel under PEEKVILLE.

The first of our Flower Technique classes is on this Thursday night, so make sure you don't miss out.  Starts at 7pm and bookings essential.

Blind CropVille is on again this weekend, and bookings are essential to maintain minimum numbers.  Please contact Janet to find out what you need to bring.

I would like to send a little Hello to our Followers, both Old and New.  We hope you are enjoying the Blog and will join in with our Challenges or grab a Pack.

I would also like to send a little TOOT to Anthea English (former CT Member for Scrapville) who was recently published in Scrapbooking Memories.  Well done girlfriend!

I also wanted to send the Road Trip Queen a "detour home!" message.  It seems one of our Creative Team girls has hit the road with hubby at a most inoppertune time, and is now taking the "long way" home further interstate.  See you soon!!!

On a lighter note I would like to send a special message to those currently finding themselves weathered down with ill health and family issues, my heart goes out to you all.  I hope your coming days are made easier with the love and support of friends and family.

And to those of us who are challenged by FLOODS, stay safe and I hope you get through it ok.

Thanks for your support and stay tuned for lots more to come!

More Sketches for March

Here are some more Sketch creations for the Feb/Mar Challenge.
Shy by Lizzie Crust
There is lots of softness and gorgeous flowers in Lizzie's layout. Teamed with lace paper, doilies and a variety of flourishes this has come together very nicely.  Well done Lizzie.
First Operations by Roseanne Cook
Charlotte's first hospital experience has been portrayed as a Before and After by Roseanne. Wonderful colours, gorgeous handmade flowers and I love the ink drops.  Nice work Roseanne.
Owl Card by Roseanne Cook
Busy again with her cards, Roseanne has made good use of her little feathered friend by accenting the embossing and stamping.  A bit of inking around the edges balances the card.  The little handmade rosette is matched up nicely as well.

Thanks girls, it's always nice to see new entries and the many different interpretations. Don't forget everyone, the Pumpkin strikes on the 15th!

End of February Layouts

Hi Everyone, well we do have some last minute February Monthly Pack layouts to share, but these two are just show and telling!
Mouse by Beth Metcalf
Beth has used lots of fussy cutting and border strips to adorn her layout. The layering looks great and the lace behind the photo breaks up the solid black.  Yet another look for our Monthly Pack.  Thanks for sharing Beth.
 Beautiful Girl by Jennie Seal
Jenie has done a bit of fussy cutting on the background floral paper, and used the same to make somelovely flowers.  The grosgrain ribbon has been mixed with the little lace flowers across the centre, and a bit of punching on the top border and some misting finish it off nicely.  Well done Jennie.
out 'n' about by Beth Metcalf
This lovely bright layout was from a previous Sketch Challenge that did not beat the pumpkin.  Alas, we still like to share.  The embossing has had a great effect on the layers, and teamed up with those colours works so well. The individual photos have added elements cut out and mounted up within the circles, which is a little hard to see from this photo.  The further mounting of the white dots add more depth and texture.  Thanks Beth.
2 Nans - Twice The Love by Judy Laracy
Judy has made good use of brown floral paper by doing a border punch at the top and bottom of the page.  She has also used the bird and heart stickers from the BG Sticker Sheet to decorate the yellow block.  A great photo to look back on, well done Judy.
February/March Sketch
Pure Sweetness by Heather Bensley
Heather has done another beautiful sketch layout, using lots of white space, lightly glimmer misted. A bit of light doodling with a journalling pen around the page border finishes the layout.
The photos and lower block are embellished with decorative leaf cutouts, and a mix of lavender, green and purple flowers.  These are finished off with a gorgeous tuft of purple spotted feathers.  Just beautiful Heather.

Thanks for sharing girls, we will have an announcement for the NEW PACK shortly, just rounding up the kit!

Creative Layouts

Just when you thought there wasn't anything left in the pack, out they come!  How good is the mix in these layouts?  It really is amazing to see just how much you can get from a pack, and this one certainly is no exception.  Scroll on down and check them all out.
We Love You by Anita Bownds (CT)
Anita's scalloped border punch ties in the theme of the pp block, not to mention the little feathered friend..  Adding a bit below the photo and along the side of the pp has given it balance.  The little cutout and sticker birds further compliment the theme.
Looking closely you will see embossing on the black cardstock and doodling along the edge of the pink frame.
In this one we can see the added detail of the flower layers from the button down to the half pleated flower - or a fan.  The velvet bow blends in nicely with the flower, with a bit more embossing and some delicate cutouts.  Well done Anita, very nice indeed.
Rachel & Scott by Angie Wenke
Angie has used lots of white space against the black background and pink photo block.  The delicate little hearts and decorative edges are a softening touch, with thin strips of pp adding clean sharp lines.  I'm sure there's more to the story if you're cashed up, but I'm not asking!!  Well done Angie.
Ellen Mary Circa 1912 by Di Corbitt
Di has used her layout with strong pinks as a contrast to the B&W photo. The deep pink embossing and handmade flowers tie in together nicely, with the white trim and lace flower drawing the eye into the softness of the photo. Given the era of this photo I'd say Di has done well to to work these colours in with such a nice effect.
Be Mine by Beth Metcalf
Beth has also chosen to work with the deeper pink as the background for her photo.  Bordering the doily cutouts on the black glitter separates the two strip designs nicely, which also works in well with the smaller hearts and flag strips, which are all mounted on black.  A bit of Dimensional Magic adds shine, and the red velvet ribbon below the photo makes a nice statement.  Very nice Beth.

What a great mix of styles using this pack. If your curiosity has been tweaked, you have until Pumpkin Time tomorrow to get one in!!  Go on....................

Thanks everyone, loving what I'm seeing.

More Feb/March Sketches

Here we have some Sketch Challenges to share.  Almost at the half way mark for the Sketch Challenges, you still have plenty of time to have a go at Anita's great designs.  Plenty of time everyone, the pumpkin is still ticking, love to see what you come up with.....
Gold by Deb Pulford (CT)
It's great to see how you can put a different spin on a Sketch by changing the colours, and the embellishments. Deb has used masculine colours and embellishments to change the look of a flowery sketch to one more suitable for her athletic boys page. The chip and metal cogs work well, and the black inked edges define each piece. Well done Deb.
Bella is 4 by 'Zan Boyle
'Zan has used an embossing folder to add an interesting texture to her vellum strips. A great effect, surrounded by handmade flowers and diecut shapes made with the Cricut. The soft pinks tie in by drawing your eye to the photos. Well done 'Zan.
Who I Am by Beth Metcalf
Beth has tackled the Sketch with quite an eclectic layout using transparency, cutouts, and all the extra bits and pieces that explain "who" her daughter is, and what she's about. A great mix of colours from the velvet ribbons, lace butterflies, paper flowers to the photos themselves. Mounted up with a fine border, the black and red stand out nicely. Well done Beth.
Happy Birthday Card by 'Zan Boyle
This card is a typical outdoor boy card, with lots of cutout bugs and blokey colours.  The addition of the brightness of Copic colouring has this little fellow jumping out at you.  A card any little fellow (a big fishy bloke!) would love.  Well done 'Zan.

Thanks for sharing everyone, and I'm sure we'll see some more interesting creations before these Sketches finish up.

Sharing Feb Monthly Pack Creations

Hi Everyone, with the February Monthly Pack nearing it's end we have a few more Creative Team samples to share with you all.  The girls have certainly got their value out of this pack, managing to complete several projects in all, and still a bit left over!  I hope that you've been able to get as much out of yours - if you were lucky enough to get a pack.
I Love You Girls - Tag Book by Anita Bownds (CT)

Absolutely beautiful Anita.  Lots of gorgeous handmade flowers, leaves, punchies, doodling, stamping and fussy cutting and Dimensional Magic too.  The mix of small B&W photos work in well, and form a fun and adorable memory.  What a great keepsake of the girls.
Daz by Deb Pulford (CT)
This layout by Deb utilizes a solid block of patterned paper behind the photo.  It is further accented with a ring of pink patterned paper and a doily cutout.  Ribbon, a border punched strip, some misting and the cutest birds complete the embellishing around the ring.  The colour tone of the photo works well with the layout too, well done Deb.

There will be more to share shortly, but once again I hope you have enjoyed using your pack and creating something wonderful.

Feb/Mar Sketches

Hi Everyone, just thought I'd share another Sketch with you.  Hope you've had time to play with this gorgeous Sketch by Anita to get your card or layout done.
Mr & Mrs by Claire Apostoloff (CT)

Claire has mainly used papers from the February Monthly Pack, but has also used MME for the background. The chipboard swirls and journalling spot are BasicGrey and the button is Jenni Bowlin.  A die was used to cut the photos.

CIaire replaced the round doily and the centre flower with hearts and used a corner rounder on the paper strips to soften the edges. They were also inked up a little. The heart and flowers are chipboard - Claire has stamped some of the patterned paper, covered the raw chipboard and inked the edges, then added a bit of bling to the flower centres.
The letters are Basic Grey and I've smudged some pink ink to around the edges so they show up on the background paper.

Thanks for your detail on the layout Claire, I love how it has come together, and how all the CT has come up with such diverse designs.  Just lovely.
